Hi I have a question for GF buffs. My parents are handicap, and want to stay at the GF. I know if you dont valet park you have to park in the lot across the street, which is pretty far. Is there any handicap parking closer? Or would they allow access to handicap parking at a reduced rate b/c they are handicap? Any info would be great. THANKS!

There are accessible parking spaces in a lot closer than the one across the street. I hesitate to post where they are because I've seen abuse of the spots including by CMs. The guard at the gate will direct them. Also I understand valet parking is free for folks with handicapped plates although we've never used valet that way. Valet may be more convenient for your parents anyway depending on where their room is. Hope that helps a little.

Sorry to be so wary but since you have have parents who need those spaces, I'm sure you can understand.

I would have them Valet park when they check-in. Then find out where there room is And see which is closer. and they may want to move.

Valet parking is free for H/C...I know cause of my brother. Also free at Yacht and Beach Club. We do tip though!

All Disney resorts will valet cars with handicapped hang tags or plates for free... on several occasions they have refused tips from my mother when she leaves the car....although she always offers.

I would strongly suggest they make a room request for a building close to the main bldg and let CRO know it is because they have mobility issues (but make sure they do not mark them for a handicapped accessible room unless that is what they prefer)...otherwise it can be a real hike from the front door to the room.

Encourage them to use the valet service....unless their room turns out to be close to a parking lot...it will save them a lot of steps.

Most hotels will allow someone with a handicapped parking permit to use the valet parking without paying the regular fee (remember though, that a tip is always appreciated).
