Handbags on Rides

Carried a Vera Bradley hipster my last 2 trips. Both were 6 days in parks. I wore my bag on every single ride including Soarin, RnRC, EE. I don't ride water rides though, so I can't speak for those. I thought the bag was a good size and it fit under all the restraints without issue.

The fact that it's so easy to bring bags on the rides with you in Disney is one of my favorite things about WDW compared to regular theme parks. I just hate having to leave it somewhere, even in a locked locker, and I'm always a little anxious about it when I have to be without it. My bag always fits with me on WDW rides.

I totally agree with this. It was such a shock to the system to go back to a regular theme park and be told I couldn't take my bags on certain rides. Never had a problem at WDW.

Thank you so much for your quick replies! So glad to hear that I shouldn't have any trouble. I need to carry an Epi-pen so it gives me comfort that I can keep a handbag with me.
I am have not read the how thread but if you down load the epicene app you can get a free bag for your Epi-pee it is small and has a clip on it that can be easily clipped to a belt loop it is big enough to have 2 Epipens in it and a little more room for something else ( not much, I had a few tissue in mine last trip and some mints) I do carry a back pack but I find This the best way to carry y Epipens so I know I all way have it on me. I have not been to universal. mainly because I do not do big coaster ( RNR is almost over my limit) and I do not know if I can keep my Epipens on me orly insulin pump I know they offer a free locker but if the ride gets stuck and they have to use something to get us down that would be very bad for me.

about bags on ride the only problems I have is soaring ( you can put the bag next to you on the ground ( but I ally have my epipen with me

and dianasour ( I can fit my bag in the pouch but is it hard to do. beside that very easey even RNR I just put my bag on the floor by my feet and slid my feet thought the arm straps to make it extra safe.

I found a cross body bag worked well for me because I just kept it on my body under the restraints. When that wasn't possible due to the configuration of the restraints, I would put my bag on the floor between my feet and keep the strap around my leg, just for some extra security!

I can't think of any rides off the top of my head that I had any real issues with. I believe Kali River Rapids now has a separate locker area for bags, but I haven't seen that firsthand so I'm not positive.

I have a crossbody sold as a travel bag Not big, lots of organizing compartments. will be able to stay in place all day, even eating..so No fear forgetting it somewhere. This trip I am hanging a carabiner on the strap to secure shopping bags on rides as needed or attach the bag to belt loop if needed

I have one and I despise it. It rubs my neck terribly. I have other bags with mesh straps that don't bother me; don't know why this one does. YMMV!

That's so funny, mine doesn't bother me at all! :)

I really don't carry much though. My phone, compact, license, extra credit card/cash, lipstick and Kleenex. Magic Band has my room key and card I use most linked. Micky carries the camera.
Keys and everything else stays in safe in room. Or luggage.

Hi! It has been awhile since I have been to WDW and am so excited to be going back! If I remember correctly, I was able to take my backpack/handbag on most rides. I think I even remember a mesh pocket on EE. Can you please let me know which rides you have difficulty taking your handbags on? Also, the last time I was at WDW my DSs were younger so I carried a Vera Bradley backpack. This time I am thinking of downsizing to a mini-hipster, so it should be fairly easy to tuck in to a smaller space on the rides.

Thanks in advance for your help!

One thing I would suggest is having your sons carry their own bag(s). No reason why one person should be the pack mule. And, then they would each have their own things for when they wanted/needed them so you wouldn't have to be stopping to get what they wanted. If they carry a backpack to school, they can carry one in the parks.

I brought a full sized backpack in 2013, as it was fall and I needed to be able to change clothes (I have very little acceptable temperature variability) I took it on everything, and on RNRC I just stuck it on the floor, stuck my leg through it, and rode.

Can I please ask, is the mesh pocket on RnRC able to zip close or is it just elasticated? I'm just worried that my bag might fall out.

No I don't believe it zips.
No need to be worried about it falling out though because the same forces that keep you in your seat also keep the bag in the vehicle.
I usually put the strap through my leg or wear it crossbody if it's not too stuffed.

In response to those discussing diaper bags, I do take my diaper bag on rides. It's handy to have snacks etc. for the baby if he gets fussy while waiting on line... or wipes to clean up minor spit up without having to leave completely. I prefer to be "armed" at all times so I'm prepared for whatever DS does.

Definitely hold onto your belongings on ToT. Once I had a phone sitting on my lap and during the drop, it flew right out the side of the elevator. I never got it back and had to have Verizon overnight a replacement to my resort!

On Twilight Zone, nothing should be in your lap at all. Heck, people used to (or still do) the "penny trick" where you put a penny on your knee and watch it fly up as you go down.

I took my Minnie ears off, in case they flew off, and held them between my knees. That totally failed as I automatically braced with my feet during the drop! Won't try that again! :faint:

Easier said than done. It took seven trips on both coasts before I could get my partner to carry his own bag.

I have to carry two different sets of epipens for myself and my son, and would not feel ok about leaving them in a locker while we waited for a ride. We went to both WDW and Universal about 5 years ago and had no issues whatsoever having the pens on our person at all times. The only ride I can't vouch for at Universal is Hulk because my son and I did not ride it. Fitness oriented companies sell these stretchy lycra pouches that strap around your waist. They zip up and are designed for runners. They aren't waterproof (found that out the hard way on a water excursion in St. Maarten!) but they do fit a twin pack of epipens perfectly and sit snugly against your body. They can even go under a shirt. We went on Forbidden Journey with them on with no questions or issues. We had room to stuff our ID and money in them too.
