Handbags, Fannypacks, or Backpacks for the Solo Traveler?

I wear a mini Marc Jacobs Crossbody with a soft leather strap. Nearly bag free - don't have to worry about constantly pushing it back up my arms, but it's chic and allows me to avoid bag checks everywhere except Universal!

That is a cute bag. I bought the Overland Donner bag and will get to try it out in the parks in 8 days. :dance3:

8. Days. Seems like forever.

The Overland Donner bag worked like a charm! Loved that it was waterproof, had plenty of room for my stuff, and easy side access for the water bottle and umbrella :)

This year I will be taking a bag I made from a Tripp bag and a bag i bought at Disney. I will post pictures when its completed! :thumbsup2

What is the policy on bags at Disney now? I was thinking of getting something to hang around my waist... but is that even allowed anymore? Will they let you go on a ride with it?

I wear a fanny pack in the parks. The only time I had to take it off was when security was looking through bags before allowing people to enter the park. There were a few rides where I shifted the bag so instead of having the pouch in front, I moved it to the side/hip area so seatbelts/harnesses/whatever fit more securely.

I don't wear a fanny pack ANYWHERE else except for Disney. I really don't care how it looks because it's pretty handy. Nothing like going hands free without something hanging on your back or shoulder. I usually go with "gym" attire in the parks so I also have a lack of pockets.

I bring a bag, but it's actually for my pins. I have car keys, cell phone, and chapstick with SPF in one pocket (don't want to sunburn your lips, it REALLY hurts!), camera in the other pocket, small wallet in back pocket, and poncho in the other back pocket, and that's it. The tissues, Advil, bandaids, etc, that you want to bring can all be found at the first aid stations through out the parks, so unless you really want to carry them, I would leave them in the room.

Maybe I'm too much of a minimalist, but I don't like to lug stuff around when I'm spending the day at Disney. My pin bag is heavy enough and it's an old camera bag, so it's not that big.

Oh, and you can still take your bag on rides, so don't worry! :)

I've always carried my beloved red Kipling backpack, but he needs replacing so now I'm carrying a red Kipling Artist

It's about the same size as a Dooney lg. Sketch, but lighter and squishier

I got a good deal on a Vera Bradley Hipster purse for a little over $20, and am using that. It's not as big as I thought it would be, though. However, it fits what I need, so it worked out okay. This is a cross-the-body purse, or at least, that's how I wear it. Fits my frame perfectly and keeps my hands free.

I call fanny packs lumbar packs now. :rotfl: I have no idea whether they are the same thing but the name is much cooler. Those are nice because some come with straps that you can wear on your shoulder so it's versatile.

I also bought the baggallini messenger bag but haven't received it in the mail. I have a weakness when it comes to bags. I'm so glad to not be dragging along my diaper bag as my kids are staying home with their grandparents.
