hand stamps

My kids love getting the stamp too even though we're AP's. On Monday my DS got a REALLY juicy stamp... there was like this puddle of yellow goo on his hand. So we each touched our noses to it so our noses would glow on the dark rides, lol.

I asked this past summer and was told that it was because they had people come in use their ticket leave and then sell their ticket so that way they know it is the same person using their ticket when they re enter park.

...I was thinking that the stamps are also fun to have if you go on a dark ride with the black lights so you can see it glow.

It seems like the stamping is more fail-proof than those finger scanners at WDW...

Not exactly sure why, but the fingerprint scanners at WDW creeped me out. A little too close to bar-coding my forehead I think.........

I haven't experienced them myself but I agree, they sound creepy.

I was there on Dec. 27th and same thing AP's needed hand stamps and it has to do with the high volume of visitors in that they were closing the parks to new entries. so perhaps if you had come earlier and got in and were returning and HAD the hand stamp they would re-admit you even if they were not allowing first time that day entries.

That makes sense. I was just surprised it was required since the consensus when I first posted my question was that AP holders didn't need a hand stamp.

How easily do these stamps wash off? I have gotten my kids' hands stamped at various events and with one trip to the bathroom, they are gone.
