Just got this from BAA :teeth:
Thought it was worth letting you know that there have been some
further changes to cabin baggage restrictions if you are travelling
to the USA.

With immediate effect you are now allowed to bring all items
purchased in the Duty and Tax Free stores on board flights to the USA
- this includes all liquids such as water, perfumes, wines and
spirits.

You may also want to take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions
which are based on genuine email enquiries received in the last few weeks.

We hope this information is of use to you and if the situation
changes again, we will provide you with all the relevant details.

Best wishes

Good news for the forthcoming trip

Is this an update from today?

Good news for us - we're travelling monday and last we heard the liquid ban was still on.

Thanks for the info, i hope virgin will follow too!

Thanks for the update! :thumbsup2 We fly out next week so I'm really happy to read that I will now be able to buy myself a new perfume! :teeth:

Thanks, Alan. Looks as though I shall be a sweet-smelling, champagne-sipping gal on the first night of my holiday, after all! :rotfl:

Yay, fav lipgloss here I come, thanks for posting :cheer2:

Have checked the Manchester Airport site and they do not appear to have announced any changes yet!

I will have to keep an eye on manchester airport, they may change things. We wanted some perfume and to take water onboard.

excellent news!! although i think gary was secretly pleased i wouldnt be able to spend a fortune in duty free this time!!

:woohoo:

I have a question though... I suffer from my ears popping quite badly when we land so I usually take karvol capsules or vicks to use through the flight to keep my airways open. Obviously these are in the forms of liquid/creams - does this mean I can't take them on board? I think that if I had kids I might get away with it - but because I don't I'm going to have to suffer... any ideas?

If you buy them airside in Boots then you should be fine :) You won't be allowed to carry anything through security that you might have bought previously though.
