Hi all, sorry to ask but I am very confused. If you do a quest in the parks do you win anything physical, or do you win something to use on VMK. As a family we are going to be in WDW in June & DS (12) is getting into VMK & wants to do one while we are there & I cannot wrap my mind around what VMK actually is. I do not get why being rewarded virtually for something is cool. I guess I am getting old!:scared1:

In the past, yes you could be rewarded with physical Park items, unfortunately right now I do not think there are any "physical" rewards available....that is not to say this will not change in the near future.

Example:

VMK Walking Tour of the Parks-Free-now extinct.

Expedition Everest- Free Picture- I believe this too is not available anymore.

As far as the virtual items go. The only way to get "Park Quest" items is to turn in the Quests at the Park.
These items since they can only be obtained by going to the parks and turning in the quests they are rarer, so cooler, than the items you can buy within the game.

You also if you actually do the quests in the park get to spend some FUN quality time with your family.

You can also use the players guide stickied above to print up the Quest answers and fill them out without having to do the Quests.

In the players guide is a link to Boppers Guide for WDW be sure and read that thread also.

Make a character, and play for a couple of hours you might get hooked ;)

You still get the glow in the dark bracelet thing. :thumbsup2

Thank you for clarifying this for me. I will read the players guide.

Where can I find info on getting the green bracelet while in the parks?

VMK is a Disney online game. You can chat with friends, trade things, create your own rooms, play games, etc. As for virutal things, it's pretty much the same thing as any other collecting hobby. You want as much as you can get. :)

For every quest you turn in correctly answered you will get real "trading cards" with vmk codes on them. The codes are entered in the game for the virutal prizes. I can understand that if you don't play the game that it might be confusing.

But trust me playing the quests and getting the prizes will make your VMK playing child happy. Every member in your family that is at the Magic Kingdom in WDW or at Disneyland with you can play the quests and get the cards for your child. He can trade the items he doesn't really care for for some other things in the game.

Read the "VMK Player's Guide", it will give you a ton of information on the park quests. Yes, Quests, there are several different ones with different prizes. It is fun to play the quests in the park for yourself but if you get the wrong answers some of the CM don't give out the prizes. You can get the answers in the "VMK Player's Guide" I would print them out and take them with you to the park and double check your answers before you turn them in.

To Start you have to do several things,
1) go to the VMK home web page and print out the quest forms that are listed there. They are not availible in the parks.
2) Go to "VMK Central" in the park and collect the quest forms from them. They are different from the ones you printed. They are located on racks in "VMK Central". They are free.

Each member in your party can turn in 1 full set of quests forms. You have to present your park ticket with the completed quest forms, they scan the ticket and give it back. Then they will give you a small stack of trading cards. When you get home or have access to a computer your child can enter the codes on the back of the cards.

You want to be sure that every card does have a code printed on the back **BEFORE** you leave "VMK Central" a few cards don't have codes on them, and that is just not a fun surprise when you get home.

Oh yea, have your child create at least 1 new character on the computers in VMK Central and that characters will have extra goodies that your child can trade to his main character when he gets home. I created 2-3 of them for myself. Be sure to write down the email address and password.

The green plastic VMK bracelet will come with your cards.

yes, VMK is virtual, but it isn't all that different than when people play the board game of Monopoly; everybody wants to have a hotel on Boardwalk. The quests have virtual prizes that are kind of like having the better properties, money, houses, and hotels.
