Hand Held Infant on Rides????

Hey All!!!
This will be my 1st time to Disney with Children and I see the Rider Switch program but What about Rides that Allow you to Carry your Child on?? I will be with My Husband, 5 yr old, 2 yr old, and 2 Month old. How can I find a site that I can see what Rides we can All go on without Figuring out we cant by just walking in??? Thanks so much for all your Help!!

You can hold your baby on any attraction that doesn't have a height requirement. We've taken lots of little ones to Disney!

We took our now 14 year old daughter with us when she was just 2 months old.

I remember these were fine:
- Small world
- maybe Pirates
- Haunted Mansion (she was sleeping)
- People Mover

- Imagination
- Mexico
- Universe of Energy (B.E. before Ellen)
- Living Seas
- Living with the Land
- Spaceship Earth

and all theaters of course

and I learned to ride stuff by myself... found all the singles lines

The PP is correct Any ride with no height requirement means your good to go! Ex. PoTC, Haunted Mansion, TSMM, Buzz Lightyear, Safari, Spaceship Earth, Dumbo, etc, just to name a few! I've taken both my boys at 3 months old and was amazed at how much they can do Enjoy your vacation!

I recommend a baby sling. Make sure it fits dad too. Haha

I agree. I found that the Ergo is best. (Though a soft carrier and not a sling.) My DH (6'2") and I (5'4") both wore it when our son was an infant.

Any ride that doesn't have a height requirement the baby can ride on your lap. have fun!!!

How did you find Pirates with a baby? I've been reluctant to take my three and a half month old cause of the drop.

The "drop" on pirates is very mild. I see no concern about taking a little one. My DS was 7 months when we took him the first time and it was easy. I know that is 2x as old as yours but really, the drop is very mild.

I wouldn't consider what pirates has as a "drop," it's really just a slope.

I'm so glad you asked this! We're going with Baby FFerret in Jan when she's nine months. Have to admit I was a Lille anxious about some of the rides mentioned above, but now I feel a lot better. I've been introducing her to our ergo, and she.s kind of getting use to it...

True. I've been on the ride dozens of times, just never with her.

Just wanted to give you a caution for the baby on Toy Story - even the 2 year old. The turns are a bit rough. I stick my diaper bag on the outside of my 2 year old so she doesn't hit her head on the outside of the car. It throws her. She loves it though lol. Hold the baby tight. A wrap is a good idea, I did wear younger DD when she was an infant on the ride. That's the one that drives me crazy, there's no child swap ticket available and it's needed for babies IMO.

I wouldn't take a a baby on Toy Story - way too many sharp turns. I got joshed around on it when I was pregnant.

I've taken my daughter on the safari, but lap infants shouldn't sit on the sides - again, too much joshing.

This. If you cary the little one in a Baby Bjorn or such they may or may not make you take them out, depending on the Cast Member, but otherwise, ride and enjoy!

No one has ever made me take my baby out of the carrier. I wouldn't go on certain rides if I couldn't leave her in the carrier.

Another "no height restriction" ride that might be an issue with that is the Tea Cups.

But in general, I'd agree with others that there are ton of rides that a hand held infant can do at WDW.

Took DS when he was 6 months to DL. He rode Pirates, Small World, Toad, Peter Pan, the trains, snow white, Tiki, and Buzz. He loved the monorail.

We are FL locals, and since then he has ridden nearly all WDWs rides that do not have height requirement.

We use the BabyHawk carrier or the baby becco (they just came out with a gorgeous new style, I may have to sell my old one for the newer version!) during travel. A baby slings is nice b/c they are easy to store slip on and off, but you really have to be careful if you are bending down to get something.

BTW: don't forget to take advantage of the lovely babycare centers - so relaxing and best place to nurse. Of course, you can also nurse on dark rides - Mansion is a nice place to nurse while you are riding!

When the littlest ones grow sleepy and your feet are tired, the People Mover will be your favorite attraction at Disney World! Disney as a parent is very different than Disney sans kids (just like everything else with/without children, really). You can do a few People Mover laps without re-entering the line. I've used hand signals, eye contact, and looking cute in order to avoid waking the little one while alerting the CM to my intention to remain onboard.

You can send the older kid(s) with another adult and enjoy some quiet with baby. Trust me... Height requirements and jostling will be a distant memory when you have your feet up and a sleeping baby on the People Mover.
