Hampton inn ?

I have stayed in Hampton Inns, but not in Florida. Did you have an specific questions? They are a nice, moderately priced chain. You get a free continental breakfast.

We stayed in a Hampton Inn on our way to and from Orlando.
They are owned by the same company that has Hilton, Embassy Suites, and a few other nice chains.
Our rooms were very nice.
80.00 got us two queen beds (seemed comfortable w/o flat pillows), nice rocker/recliner, deck with nice rolling chair, beautiful furniture, big mirrors, coffee/pot, iron/board, Breck Shampoo, Dial body soap, Jergens hand soap. Just having a nice mattress and fluffy pillows usually does it for me.
Continental breakfast wasn't just pastries, but also included cereal, muffins, fresh biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, fresh fruit, juices, coffee and milk, and packaged O. Spunkmeyer muffins.
The biscuits seemed to be less dry in the second visit, and gravy was good.
Hope the helps.
We usually stay at a Holiday Inn, but on this particular trip we
weren't pleased with the smell their older hotel had to offer in Clinton. This is the only reason we went to Hampton. Glad we did.

Well, I have done some intense research on the Hampton Inn for our upcoming trip.

I have checked www.planetfeedback.com and www.epinions.com. , plus did search functions on the name of the Hotel. I found one great review of my choice.

Most of the "complaints" were things like lack of valet service, no conceierge club, and "towels weren't fluffy enough" Or the free breakfast didn't have the specific brand of cereal they eat every day

Some had reservation issues or the hotel stay reward points weren't tripled/doubled correctly.

Personally, I see those things as minor. I don't use valet service or conceirge club, and well, fluffy towels are nice, but hey my Walmart ones from home are just as good. (I'm saying If I don't have super fluffy at home, hotel ones are just fine) I don't use hotel stay reward points (I don't use credit cards!)

I was looking for MAJOR issues, like urine smells, decay, mold, no hot water, etc... I had to search for complaints dating back to 2000 in reference to the Hampton INn I am staying at (Sandlake)

And the complaint was "they didn't like the wallpaper", and "there were two screw holes in the bathroom"... I see those as minor. I'm there to go to Universal, not to study wallpaper.

I am nervous myself since I have never stayed off site. However, we got a wonderful rate ($39/night!) They do offer a 100% guarantee and its closer to Universal. I am aware the roads are busier, and has more traffic. (That doesn't bother us)

I printed out the positives and the one "negative" and showed it to my DH. He saw the negative being minor (He didn't care about the wallpaper either) so we are staying with our choice. He knows about the 100% guarantee and we will use it if necessary.

One thing to check is the age of the hotel. the one we will be staying in was built in 1996. (Not super old, but not brand new). The onsite hotel, a value resort, that we used to stay at was built in 1994.

So we feel good about our choice. I have emailed the manager a few times, and gotten a quick, friendly response.

Thanks all....

I sounds OK for me..... I'll think I'll book it for the first night!

Thanks again for all the research !!!:)

;) :p Marie
