Hampton Inn Vancouver

I haven't, but I'll share some thoughts...
  • popular for those cruisers who want to collect Hilton points
  • convenient location if you are there in Vancouver for concerts or MLS games pre/post-cruise
  • others have mentioned a shuttle service for cruise passengers (not sure about the cost)
  • nearby Yaletown offers good restaurant selections
  • if you are not a Hilton points collector.... also compare the Delta rates for your cruise dates... it's closer to the cruise terminal for a similar price.

I stayed at the one on Robson. It was very convenient for walking around town and taking public transportation.
The day of the cruise, you need to go to the front desk around 7:00am to get on the shuttle list. I think we signed up for 11:00am shuttle, but there was room in the 10:30 one and we went in that one instead. The driver accepted a tip in USD.
Nice hot breakfast with pretty good selection in the morning and 2 free bottles of water in the room. Overall, a really good value.

We stayed there once, not pre-cruise but for a conference my husband was attending. It's quite new and the staff was very friendly. There's no pool but there is a really nice hot tub on a deck on a high floor with good views of the city. The shuttle driver was really good about giving me tips on what to do with the kids while my husband was at the conference and drove us to the little harbour ferry stop so we could go to Granville Island. Quick tip: when we went a one bedroom suite was only about $20 more than a standard room and it gave us a full kitchen and great views from a high floor. Well worth it for us.

I stayed there before a cruise in July 2008. I'd stay there again if the price was right, or if I was using Hilton points.

We did in June for 1 night, it was great. Very clean, free breakfast, free shuttle to the port. We also got upgraded to a suite for free which was nice. Also there is a great pizza place in walking distance, Boston Pizza.

Does the hop on/off trolley stop there?

It stops a few blocks away, the front desk staff has all the info. We did not do it b/c it was $$ and we were only there one night, had we had a whole day in Vancouver it would've been worth it. As a side note the Hampton Shuttle will take you anywhere downtown for free, you just have to find your way back. Our evening we had it take us down to Canada Place so we could walk around and do Fly Over Canada (highly recommend), it was a less than $10 cab ride back to the Hampton.

my Mom and Dad stayed here for 2 nights pre-cruise about 5 years ago. They had the shuttle drop them at various places in ANC. I booked it for them b/c it had a shuttle from the airport late a night, free breakfast, and free shuttle to downtown and was a reasonable price. They said it was perfect for their needs.
