We're considering staying at either the Hampton Inn on Palm Parkway or the Country Inn & Suites on Apopka Vineland in September. We can get either for $49 a night and they both have a continental breakfast. We will be doing shopping at Premium Outlets and Belz, as well as going to DTD while staying there. Does anyone have an opinion on these two or a recommendation? Thanks!

Hello!

I have not stayed at either but I do know that most of the reviews on TripAdvisor for the Country Inn and Suites are quite positive.

I have stayed at Country Inns and like that chain. I have not stayed at this particular one, but have had wonderful good luck at other locations.

We have not stayed at either one but have been by both and have been in the Country Inn & Suites LBV. Country Inn & Suites is a fine hotel chain and the one in LBV is comparable to any of them. However, it is a rectangular building surrounded by parking lots, sandwiched in between the Sheraton Safari, a restaurant, and a mini-mall. It has an very ordinary outdoor pool at one end of the building. The area has a very urban feel to it. On the plus side, there are many restaurants nearby, even within easy walking distance, and it is closer to DTD.

Parkway Blvd. On the other hand is a very nice road, landscaped down the middle and give more of a resort feel to it. The Hampton is at the north end of Parkway Blvd- it dead-ends at the Hampton. I have not been in the Hampton but it has more of a townhome or condo look to it. As a possible drawback, some of the rooms are adjacent to I-4, I would avoid those if possible. Also, there are no restaurants within easy walking distance but Parkway Blvd intersects US 192 and there are many places within a short drive.

Hi JohnnyOldBoy!

Thanks very much for the info as I am considering either the Country Inn and Suites or Comfort Inn LBV.

Can you suggest a decent LBV area hotel?

Since the only place in LBV that we have stayed is Cypress Pointe, it's hard for me to actually recommend something. Since we had a fair amount of time on our last trip DW and I walked around the area and through some of the nearby hotels so I can give my impressions based only on that.

The Comfort Inn LBV will have more of a resort feel since it is very large and spread out and is away from Vineland-Apopka Road down Palm Parkway. However it also backs up to I-4. From what it looked like, rooms will either face the parking lot or I-4 (the pools and some ponds are between the rooms and I-4 so you're not on it). It seems to get mixed reviews.

From what we saw, the nicest places appeared to be Residence Inn LBV, Embassy Suites, and Hyatt Grand Cypress. But these are probably in another price range.

The ones that looked least appealing are Doubletree Club, Riu Orlando, and Radisson LBV.

JohnnyOldBoy,

Thanks very much for your info. The Comfort Inn seems to have a decent shuttle schedule which is important since I do not want to rent a car. Other than that all I need is a clean bed in which to rest my head for the night. I have read lots of reviews on TripAdvisor, and find them to be confusing at best. It seems even the best thought of places have an equal number of pleased and displeased people.

My sister and I stayed at the Doubletree Club in February. We got it for $42 on Hotwire. While it has a very unsual look to it on the outside, the room we had there was very clean. It wasn't new, but it was clean and the beds were very, very comfortable. We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff. We really had no complaints and the price was right! If I could get it for $42 now, I'd stay there again.
