Stayed 2/20-2/27...

Checked in around 1pm. Had a reservation for a king study(king bed w/sleeper sofa) for $124.. Front desk clerk told us that our room would not be available for our first night because the person who was staying in it wanted to stay one extra night, but they could give us a room with 2 double beds and a microwave/fridge for $109. When I stated that I had a reservation for a king study room, she replied(very snotty by the way) the person who is in there was willing to pay $300 for the extra night. Not wanting to start are trip out on a bad note, we went up to take a look a the room with the two double beds. It was satisfactory(even though not what I had reserved), so I went back to the front desk and told her that we would stay in the double room for the entire week as I did not want to switch rooms in mid trip. She reassured me that we would be charged for the $109 rate not the $124 rate. That night I discovered that instead of putting a hold on my debit card account once, they did it twice(I'm not sure if this was the fault of the same desk clerk) but now I am getting pissed because of I have two charges of $1100+ against my checking account. The night clerk gladly straightened this out for me, but it wasn't easy as they had to fax something to the bank prior to the hold being released.

The room itself was in very good condition as was the hotel in general. Housekeeping was excellent for the first 5 nights, but then somehow fell apart the last two. One night we arrived back and the garbage which had been overflowing was not emptied. The next night when we got back, we had no bath towels or bath mat. Both of these nights, there was no attempt to fold up the ironing board and put the iron away.

Free breakfast was good. They had typical continental breakfast items(cereal, bagels, toast, yogurt, danishes, fruit, muffins,etc...) along with a couple of hot items each day. Dining area was kept clean and food was restocked regularly.

The only problem was that I had to look at the same front desk clerk every morning that gave us problems at check in. I am not sure if you could get a smile out of here if you handed here a $100 bill, but I avoided her like the plague. Not the friendly face you wanted to see to start the morning. The two night clerks on the other hand were very nice and very helpful.

The pool area which we used two afternoons was very clean and very quiet. Pool must have been heated to 90 degrees as it felt like bath water.

Parking lot was never very crowded as I believe the majority of guests were convention related.

Waking up on our last morning to check out, I looked at the bill under the door and to no surprise my per night stay was charged at $124 per night. The overnight clerk was still there and corrected it, but Ms. Pouty did not fix it as she had told us upon checking in.

In hindsight, even though we only went to WDW on 3 days, we would have been better off staying at WDW Pop Century or one of the All Star resorts.

Hampton Inns usually have comment cards around. I hope you picked one up. I've received nice feedback when I left compliments, heard nothing when I left a complaint, so I don't know how effective they are. It's worth a shot, though.

You should have discussed your problem with the duty manager of the hotel. If your unhappy in any way and hampton inn cant fix your problem you dont have to pay for your stay.
