Hi,just returned from a 3 night stay here.March 5-8th.It was within walking distance to the convention center[about 10 minute walk] and very near Mercado and the Titanic exhibit and the tourist bureau. It had a nice heated pool but no hot tub and a work out room with a treadmill and other equip.but no weights. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions. The room was clean and large although the pillows were'nt the greatest. We received a certificate for a free in room movie and they had still first run movies along with popcorn and soda at checkin. They also had a wonderful hot breakfast included pastries, cereal, sausage, biscuits, waffles, fruit, yogurt and hot choc, tea, coffee and fruit juice etc..International Dr turned in Universal Dr. so we very close to Seaworld,Universal and Wet'n Wild. They were only about 2 miles down the road.We only went to DTD,MGM and MK it was only about 10-15minutes on I 4.Also soda in the vending machines were only 1$ and snacks around .75 cents. We were also close to Walgreens,Goodings and many restaurants at much cheaper prices then Disney. We would not hesitate to stay in this hotel or area again. This is the first time we have stayed off site and we think next year we will stay at one of the "suite hotels" nearby because with kids we like to stretch out and hope to see more than Disney now that our girls are old enough for Universal. Thanks and feel free to ask any questions.Dana

Do remeber what some the restaurants are. They chain restaurants or local places. Was there any fun places in walking distance to do anything like mini-golf.

I've stayed there and found it to be very convenient. Staff was friendly too. One of the better Hampton Inns in the area IMO.

The Peabody was within walking distance,Bahama Breeze and several other chain restaraunts. The Pointe shopping area could be seen from our room and it had several nice shops and dining. There also was Pirates mini-golf that was probably about a 10 minute walk.I drive was right behind us so you are very near Ripleys and Wonderworks also.I was very pleased at how close we were to alot fun nonDiseny things. Also very close to Walgreens and Goodings plus they had free transport to Universal but we did not use and I also believe you can get on the I trolley either there or the hotel next door but we walked or used our rental car.
