Hammocks at the Polynesian...

i have to say that the hammocks are first come first serve. My husband swung in one for about an hour one night, it's relaxing and we paid to stay at the resort so why not?

That's cool! I'm sure he enjoyed the hammock. Maybe I'll have a better luck next time. I'm not going to pout (JK on crying). I'll just see if maybe I'll get sprinkled with ~*Pixie Dust*~ Thanks for sharing!!

I would approach the hammock situation like a pay telephone. Some people on the phone know they are going to be there for a long time and some know they are going to be quick. I would politely let them know that you would like the hammock when they are through and you will be sitting at the pool or somewhere near, if they will be long you will try another time.

Actually they might be kind and say, "You know we were through and really did not think about someone else wanting them". And let you have it.

If you feel they are not Polynesian guests; and I am sorry you beach visitors this is one thing I do not feel anyone visiting the Polynesian should use as there are so few of them, then ask them nicely if they like their room location and if they say they are not staying there, dump um.

I can just see our sweet Fantasia dumping the visitors out of the hammocks. I hope you find some empty hammocks on your next stay.

I'm pretty sure I saw you and your beautiful kids arriving at the WL one day this year, in a limo, while I was walking out.

I think you're right about more empty hammocks at CBR. With all the traffic the Poly gets, it's amazing there's ever a free hammock.

Thanks Sammie! Good suggestion! Not about dumping them off... but how to approach them. But I suppose dumping them off the hammock is not a bad idea!

Honestly... I am a type of person who will share the hammock. If I've been there for about half an hour, and I see someone who looks like they want to get on it, I will probably just ask them if they want it, if so, then I will move. I am just playing fair. In this world, you don't see too many folks who are considerate or concious about their surroundings... some folks just think about themselves. ME ME ME! Well.. we're all different. I have to accept that. And I understand... like I said before. Life is not fair, accept it, deal with it... and move on. Life is too short.

Love your first post! I think some folks took it way to seriously. Having said that - dump 'em!
On a slightly related note - beware of the beach swing early in the AM. It's wet. Guess how I know.....
