CanJet Takes Hamilton to Disney World

CanJet, Canada’s Low-Fare Airline, is pleased to announce it will launch scheduled weekly service between Hamilton, Ontario and Orlando, Florida on June 19th.

The airline’s Director of Marketing & Sales Delivery, Doug Newson, said, “There is a major year round demand for Orlando flights from Ontario’s Golden Horseshoe region and CanJet Airlines is delighted to announce today that we will provide Saturday scheduled service effective June 19th. We are confident the Hamilton-Orlando service will be supported enthusiastically by residents in all regions served by the John C. Munro International Airport and we also feel our product and attractive pricing will draw customers from many other parts of Ontario as well.”

John Gibson, Vice-President, Marketing, Hamilton International Airport, stated, “We are thrilled with CanJet’s decision and we are very excited to have trans border air service return to Hamilton. Florida is the most requested destination in the region and we encourage everybody to take advantage of CanJet’s weekly Hamilton-Orlando service.”

CanJet Airlines Saturday flight will depart Hamilton at 8:00 a.m. and arrive at Orlando International Airport at 10:45 a.m. The return flight will depart Orlando at 12:10 p.m. and arrive in Hamilton at 2:40 p.m. Mr. Newson went on to say, “I am also pleased to announce that CanJet is offering an $89 (CDN) one-way introductory fare between Hamilton and Orlando. At a fabulous price like this and with all the magnificent attractions in and around Orlando, I anticipate a very high demand for our new Hamilton-Orlando service.”

CanJet Airlines is a division of IMP Group Limited, Halifax, Nova Scotia, recently selected as one of Canada’s Top 50 Best Managed Companies and one of Canada’s largest aviation and aerospace companies. The airline division provides low-fare, scheduled service to fourteen (14) destinations in Eastern and Central Canada and the United Sates with Boeing 737 aircraft. Yes we're about a 10 minute drive to the airport and DH and I have been waiting along time to be able to zip in and zip out of John C Munro! Although right now they only do Saturday flights but at $89.00 each way that's not too bad.:D

LOL I did check their web site and for the both of us to fly to Orlando it would be $630.00....thanks to all the service charges, taxes fees etc!

We must live very close then.. I am only about 15 minutes away as well.
I know that the taxes are tons, it makes it $200.00 more than to fly out buffalo with southwest but the fact that it is just down the street really helps with that! :)
and it is such a nice easy airport too.. I hope that price stays there tho cause we are not leaving until Jan. and you can not book that far in advance yet.

mousy the web site states that the regular fare would be only $10.00 more than the "special" rate so even that's not too bad.:D

I just want to enjoy the quick run to Mount Hope and back. We flew out of Buffalo last year with Southwest and have nothing but praise for both but we had to get up at 2am to get to Grimsby (my friend's place) in order to get the airport shuttle to Buffalo airport.:(

Now if I can only find the bucks to head back down using Mount Hope!:p

Actually, Canjet's website quotes a "web" fare and then a fare for the same flight if you were using a travel agent to book (that is the $10 difference). It is hard to say what their regular fare would be for this route but the $10 above this would not be their regular fare.

A mile from the airport, as the crow flies! I'll definitely be checking this out! :D

I put in a couple of scenerios-(they only fly to Orlando on Saturdays it seems) total return incl taxes etc was about $329-way better than the $600+ I'm paying!! It's the same distance for us to either airport but I'm thinking Hamilton would be easier to get in and out of.

Unless they get more than 1 flight per week and fly on days other than Saturdays, we'll not likely use CanJet. I entered some dates for around Labour Day and the total cost I got was more than Spirit out of DTW or AirTran out of Flint. In fact, we're booked on Spirit for December already and we decided to splurge for Spirit Plus (first class) on the return trip - and the total fare was still less than CanJet's regular fare. Plus, we're flying down on a Wednesday and returning the following Thursday - which wouldn't work with CanJet.

Even though Hamilton is a little quicker (and much easier) to get to than DTW there's still no benefit to us. What I'm hoping for is that WestJet will start a couple of flights/week to MCO out of London. That would be something worth getting excited about... ::yes::

Okay, fingers crossed, and wishing for as much pixie dust as we can muster! :hyper:
