UGH looks like no PTN parade :(

On select, non-Mickey’s Halloween Party nights, guests visiting Disneyland will enjoy a special treat: the “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks spectacular. In addition, the dynamic “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” will march down Main Street, U.S.A., each day throughout Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort.

I apologize in advance for not knowing this, but I let our APs expire and haven't been since Star Wars Race weekend. Is the Rivers of America not boarded up? Is there water? I had in my mind it was hidden and dry until Star Wars Land opens? But it looks like the Cadaver Dans are floating on a raft?

There is a cavalcade this year, according to the press release --

"New for Mickey’s Halloween Party in 2016, The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow rides his ghostly black steed and carries his flickering jack-o-lantern through the heart of Disneyland, heralding the arrival of Mickey’s Halloween Party character cavalcade, presented on the 17 nights of this special party."

So I guess that it just got left out of the actual Parks Blog.

Yes there is water! The river, right now, is only blocked off near the back.

Why was I thinking that more of the river was supposed to be drained at some point down the road? I guess I misunderstood, and they found a way to work around it. That's good, because the fog on the RoA, and the Cadaver Dans floating on it, is a big part of MHP!

So...
Fireworks, even on non party nights (Saturday's probably)
Cadaver dans floating on the foggy ROA,
An upgraded cavalcade (includes hh)
Costumes for all (Adults and children are encouraged to dress in costume for the party as they trick-or-treat throughout Disneyland for a scary good time. Guests may check www.Disneyland.com for Mickey’s Halloween Party costume policy guidelines prior to their arrival. - See more at: http://disneylandnews.com/2016/07/1...t-sept-9-through-oct-31/#sthash.MGZ9gQvC.dpuf)

Great article!

Great article!

I always look forward to the press releases for Halloween Time and the Holiday season because, while they usually contain 95% of the same things that are in the Parks Blogs, there is also usually some little nugget o' info hidden in the paragraphs that is not in the Parks Blog, or some extra little detail that the Blog forgot to cover.

I don't disagree that the prices are a bit outrageous, but technically it's good for 8 hours in the park, not 5. So that helps justify it a little bit for me at least.
I already paid for 5 day park hoppers for our trip, so that makes it more difficult to justify the added expense. But, you know I'll pay it, as I already promised my daughter we'd go. I just need to find a way to raise $400 quickly, so I can pay for it. :scared:

So, any speculation on the days the Haunted Mansion will be closed for the overlay installation now? We are there in mid-late August and will be very bummed to miss the DLR Haunted Mansion!

This to me confirms the "No Disneyland Forever or Paint the Night after the 60th ends" rumors that have been floating around!

I beleive it goes down on August 22nd or 23rd. It's on the DL calendar for one of those days as being referbished.

YAY!!! So excited to see the dates. I'm planning for sure on one party...trying to find an extra $300 to add another party while we are there!

It is overly crowded during UEA? There isn't a party during the 2 days we planned to be at the parks (28 & 29), so we had to move our trip one week up (21 & 22)...but then I noticed that is when UEA is.

If Paint the Night goes away after the 60th that will be a little disappointing, but that also means we can have our garlands back over main street for Christmas!!!!!!!

It better not. We are going end of september and its a must see. Was considering doing the party but not at those prices and we can go to the one at WDW whenever we want.

Woo hoo! So thrilled that the dates have been announced! DH will be there for a solo trip next week. Looks like my souvenir from his trip will be a ticket :)

Some people seem to get them very soon -- surprisingly soon -- and others end up with delayed tickets, either in snail mail or via email, for whatever reason.

You can definitely use them to buy tickets in person, at the ticket booths. I don't know about over the phone. You should be able to use gift cards to buy the tickets online, unless something has changed. Keep in mind, though, that if you are applying any kind of discount -- like a Disney Visa discount, which would require ordering over the phone -- you may not be able to get a discount while using a gift card too, as you would be expected to use your Disney Visa to pay.
Thanks Sherry! And I understand about the Visa.

Sigh.... I need a bucket of Disney Dollars to fall out of the sky into my lap. I'm not really surprised at the price hike, but disappointed by it. Of course, neither of the nights during my trip are discounted. The tickets for a 5 hour party are almost to the price of a full day. That's crazy, especially with everything that is missing from the party now.
I agree I paid $77 last year and this year is $89 for the same week. That's pretty expensive, but I'm still going..
