Ok... So apparently my trip is planned the day after the Halloween overlay taks effect, I have never been at Halloween and I'm a bit nervous because my 4 year old is so excited to go but I don't want her to get scared.. I WAS excited about her being able to ride space mt for the first time but with the freaky overlay I'm thinking not? Thoughts ... Tips.. Must do's ... Stay away froms...ect!

Halloween Time is very family friendly. Remember you're in Disneyland so it's Halloween with a Disney Twist. I'm sure your 4 year old will love seeing Mickey Mouse shaped pumpkins and characters wearing costumes!

As far as Space Mountain is concern, I would say skip it...

We took our 3 boys (then 1, 4, and 6 yrs) last October during Halloween time and the LOVED it. We'd done DLR during Christmas time the year before that which was also fantastic but my boys say they like Halloween time in DLR best. I'd say skip Space Mountain. Even without the overlay, I think it's too intense for a 4 year old.

Halloween at Disneyland is a lot of fun. The pumpkin carvers at Big Thunder were very impressive.

Regarding SMGG, there was a thread asking "how scary" is it a couple of days ago. This will give you an idea how others felt, but if you feel that your child will be scared, then best to avoid it. Why ruin the trip with that when there are so many other fun things to do and see!

From what I've seen, it looks very family friendly. Looking forward to doing both ends of the Halloween spectrum in October - First Disney, then Universal. :)

My 4 year old enjoyed all of the Halloween decorations and rode Space Mountain without a problem. It isn't really scary at all.

:offtopic: Cool name..and I especially like the way you spell it. :thumbsup2

Everything is very kid friendly....maybe have one person ride Space before letting your 4 year old ride. Mine personally declined to ride it again, but every child is different.

I think the Ghost Galaxy overlay could be a bit much for a 4 year old, but everything else should be fine. My DD3 loves roller coasters, and the usual ride would be fine, but the ghost is a little intense for small kids. Maybe you could take your little one up to the sign outside and see how that goes. If it's scary, it might not be a good idea to ride.
There are some really fun things you should try not to miss! Our favorites are at Big Thunder Ranch, where they have some amazing pumpkin carvers and cute decorations, and the meet and greet with the villains outside IASW. Our DD still does the "puppy dog face" Cruella taught her last year whenever she wants something ;)
