We have been around that time the last 2 years crowds are managable but busy . F&W are winding down so Epcot is a mad house on the weekends.
But we love it that time of the year and the MNSSHP is great. I have also done a few solo trips as that the time we normally played paintball at the WWoS.
Hi! Welcome to the DIS! It's a pretty safe bet that if Halloween is mentioned in a post, that I'mNoPrince (Terry) will reply! He loves Halloween in WDW almost as much as I do!
The end of October is a great time to go to WDW. The weather is good, the crowds are fair, plus you have the Food & Wine Fest and MNSSHP! Like Terry said, try to avoid Epcot World Showcase on the weekend and you'll be fine. You will even get to see some Christmas decorations go up at the beginning of November.
We just went for Halloween 2006, and I wrote a trip report about it here on the DIS. It's linked in my signature...
Have a great time in WDW!!!
Happy Planning!

We love going the end of Oct. This year will be the 3rd in a row for us. WE LOVE MNSSHP. My mother in law loves food and wine. Weather is perfect. Two years ago there was a huricane the week before our trip. It is the season, although the end so be aware of that. We have had some cool days and cold nights in Oct. I dont mind that. Every trip had warm days to swim.
Two years ago we went to the Magic Kingdom on a weekend day that was a extra magic hour day too. It was very croweded so this last year we adjusted our schedule and did the Magic Kingdom during the week on a day there was not a MNSSCHP. I have read that the Magic Kingdom is a little more crowded on the days there is the party. Also I feel my park fee money goes futher ie more time on a full day than a day the park closes early for the party.
We'll be there 10/27-11/01. Still trying to convince my brother-in-law and his family to join us. If anyone has a spare moment, send some "we have to go to WDW this October!!!" thoughts in the direction of Apple Valley, MN. Any help would be appreciated!
LOVE that time of year!! MNSSHP is totally fun and the rest of the parks are easy to get around as long as you heed the earlier advice of staying away from Epcot's F&W on weekends. We've found that many rides are walk-on to minimal waits, especially during the week.

We definitely experienced this. We were down there for Halloween last year. We rarely used Fastpass because there was no need. Only rides we waited more than 15 minutes for was Soarin' and Rockn' Roller (which was on the day of our depature, which coincided with building crowds for Jersey Week).
Halloween decorations at the parks and DtD were really cool. Halloween activities at SSR were fun. No complaints.
We definitely felt that this was the most enjoyable time to be there with weather and crowds. But for our next trip we decided to experience the other end of the scale and hit WDW for NY's eve.
It looks like we'll be there at the same time. We love Halloween and the Food & Wine Festival almost as much as Christmas. In fact, that's how we plan most of our trips. We'll get an annual pass and make one trip in December and a second trip in October/November.
This year's trip is planned for Oct. 27 to Nov. 3, and it will be a special one -- just my grandson and I. One thing I would encourage you to do is get tickets and go to the MNSSHP in costume. It just makes everything that much more fun. Just a hint, though. Don't ever wear a costume that requires you to glue cotton balls all over your body. It can get quite warm in Florida in October, and cotton balls do retain heat. (Don't ask how I know.)

Just wanted to let you know I read your trip report, thought it was very nice. I like all the information and pics you posted, the details helps take me to Disney!
I am a big Halloween fan. My house has the most props, lights, etc and is the neighborhood favorite. My DW doesn't really care for Halloween, but she goes along with everything for me (she is a wonderful DW). I finally convinced her to go this year to MNSSHP and are really looking forward to the trip.
