Halloween

You guys seem to be the experts on MNSSHP!

We are currently booked Sept. 6-13th. If I change our dates we could go to the party on the 15th of September. Any idea if the "first" party of the season would be really crowded?

Also, this would unfortunatley prevent us from being in Disney on my dd's birthday but we could still celebrate a few days later right? She turns 4 so I'm not sure if it's 100% important that we celebrate on the day or if she would like celebrating all week the following week and go to the Halloween party! Did I mention she is already talking about trick o treating?

Thanks for the advice!

We went to the Mickey's Not so Scarey Halloween party a few years back. We actually went on Halloween night and I think so did most of Florida! It was so crowded we ended up leaving after the parade and going back to the resort. It was neat to see all the Halloween decorations, and see Mickey and the gang in costumes. The kids didn't do much trick or treating because the lines seems to move so slow...mostly due to the night we went. We did speak to a cast member about the crowds and we were told that this was the busiest he had ever seen in his 17 years. Would we do it again? Maybe...it is alot of money, but something I would say to do at least once if you are already there...but I don't think I would make my vacation plans around it.

Maybe they started cutting the ticket sales down, because last year's Halloween Night was sold out and we didn't have a single problem. It was more crowded during the day :)

100AcreWood: I think you will find the crowds quite managable...most years the only sold out dates are the 31st and possibly the weekend nights right before Halloween.

Since you can arrive at the park @ 4pm (that's when they let you in) you can enjoy 8 hours with relatively few people! If you want to ride there are few if any line ups...you generally find more people trick or treating...but still it's minor. (except on halloween nite!)

We have 3 kids (8, 6 & 2) and generally we always celebrate their b-days on the weekend nearest the actual day...it's seldom that the two coincide. Last year our 5 year old had his b-day a week before we left, so all the family and friends could give him Disney stuff for his b-day (including a little spending $$) for his holiday...It made him even more excited...

This year we are going again, twice!! The way I see it is b-days are so fun and over stimulating on their own, why not have the b-day party at home. Then they can have 2 super fun times seperately...rather than just one...Just my opinion...

Good luck with the planning! Maybe give the MNSSHP tickets to her for one of her B-day presents? Wouldn't that be a great gift!! pirate:

Hope this helps.... :thumbsup2

This helps alot!! Now I guess I need to get on the phone and see if I can secure me a set of 4 tickets for September 22nd!! Oh yeah, I will have to change my Lecellier reservation as it is at 6:00 that night! HMMMM.... more changes & planning to be done, and just when I thought I had it all worked out. So, adults can stand in line to collect candy too? I would only do this to get a picture of the CM handing out the candy! This sounds like something I wouldn't want to pass up. Oh, I wish I would have known about this earlier as I already purchased a MYW pass that include this day and I wouldn't had to have done that.... Oh, well its DISNEY!!

This is my first time to go to MNSSHP.... Can't wait....We will be there Sept 26 - Oct 6, MNSSHP on Sept 29th.... Just DH & Me
We have been to DW in OCT '01 and Aug "03, but didn't know about this great board or all the good info I have found. (2 trips later)...... Thanks....

I have a couple of questions??? Sorry, That's New-b for you.... :rotfl2:
1) I read the schedules for the parks (have everything all pland out) and it states park closes at 6pm.... If we are in the park (park Hopper Passes) earlier in the day can we just stay in? Wanted to make ADR but didn't want to eat at 5 pm and have to be out by 6pm just to go back in at 7pm Seeing as it will just be DH & me do most adults dress up????
2) Is there a schedule of parades and fireworks for MNSSHP that I can print?

You can stay. They officially close at 6:00p to clear the park of non-party guests and get it ready but they do not make party goers leave. You can exchange your tickets at any restaurant or there will be CMs throughout the park to exhange them.

They do not release a schedule until you can get the special party map at the party itself but most go by the previous year's schedule. Someone, I'm sure, will post this year's schedule after the first party.

2005 schedule:

Trick-or-Treating
Goodies for your ghouls all evenings.
Consult park map for locations. 7PM-12AM

Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
See your favorite characters in costume!
Parade route is marked on map.
8:00 & 10:00 PM

Halloween Dance Parties
Stitch's Cosmic Dance Party - Tomorrowland
Get Up & Boo-gie - Fantasyland

“Happy HalloWishes” Fireworks
New this year is a spectacular Halloween-themed fireworks display -- “Happy HalloWishes” -- featuring spooky music from family-friendly Disney attractions and movies including Haunted Mansion and “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” as well as the voices of memorable Disney characters such as Madame Leota, Ursula, Jafar, Maleficent and Oogie Boogie. Eek!
9:15 PM

Cinderella's Surprise Celebration
On the Castle Forecourt Stage
7:25 & 8:40PM

This is a hard ticket event that takes place after the park closes so you must buy tickets for it. Your 10 day hopper doesn't matter.

You have time. Most nights do not sell out and if they do, not till the Fall.

I just got my tickets Monday for the September 22 event. This will be our first time doing the MNSSHP and I have a few silly questions.

We are not going to do a park that day and are planning to try to enter MK around 4:00 or 4:30. If we plan to eat at LTT that night around 5:00 will the characters at LTT be in costume already or will they only be in costume after 7:00? Also what if we make a 5:00 ADR at LTT and are turned away at the gate until 7:00 when it officially opens?

My son will be doing the Pirate Cruise the day before and I read that he will receive a Mickey pirate hat. Can I just put a pirate tee shirt on him and let him wear the pirate hat? Just how much of a costume does he need? I want him to be comfortable, but also don't want him to feel under dressed.

I think the face painting sounds fun. Will they paint the faces of my two teens or is it just for the little children? They won't wear costumes, but a Halloween tee shirt.

Sorry for so many questions, but I'm really excited and just need to know how to arrange our day for the most fun. Thanks in advance.

Characters at LTT have their masks etc..on right when dinner starts at 4:00p.

They will not turn you away if you have your party tickets.
