I'm one of the room parent's for my DS9's 4th grade class. I'd love some ideas on something different to bring in other than just cupcakes. Any thoughts?

How about some rocks. :lmao:
(sorry, couldn't' resist)

For a twist on cupcakes what about doing them in ice cream cones. That's always fun.

What if you did those worms in dirt cups? That could be cute (and easier!)

With a spider ring atop each one? ONe of those little pumpkin candy corn things, too?

Whenever I bring in homemade cookie ice-cream sandwiches they're a huge hit.

That would be cute, too!

And if you used chocolate ice cream, you could have a worm sticking out each one of those, too! :thumbsup2 Roll the edges in the cookie crumbs, so it looks like dirt....

Why do I want to use worms in everything?

They have 30-packs of halloween toys at Target and they are only in the $4-$5 range. DD8 is giving out glow in the dark bats this year. These are nicer toys, bigger than a toy you'd get out of a gum ball machine too. They also had chinese yoyos, glow in the dark skeleton key chains, spiders with webs, ect. Very good variety and good quality for the price.

If it had to be an edible treat, you could make the cupcakes in the ice cream cones, that's always a fun one too.

That's the first thing that came to my mind too! I loved that stuff when I was a kid!

tons of really cute ideas if you Google this. I was looking last year for a class goodie and there were just tons of ideas out there.

I'm sure noone ever saw (or remembers) the super old SNL with Christian Slater (I know it well because I TAPED it-I was in :lovestruc with CS,) but they had a skit with, "and you can put your WEED in there." :rotfl: Super obscure, but that's what came to mind with the worm thing. If you saw it, trust me, you'd laugh.;)

OMG! I remember that! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I make popcorn hands that are really a hit! You use clear disposable food service gloves, put a candy corn in the tip of each finger/thumb-pointed out. Fill them with popped corn (white if you can find it) and tie the wrist with a ribbon when filled. Put a spider ring on the ring finger. The kids just love these.

Here I found this picture on Photobucket. You will get the idea. This is not my kid...

They forgot the ring, that is the clincher!

I've made individual "dirt" for a Halloween party.

I used the very thick aluminum cupcake tins & then another year found them with pumpkins & bats on them. Make the chocolate pudding layer the pudding & crushed chocolate cookies then sprinkled more (crushed cookie) dirt on the top & use gummy worms but you can also find gummy spiders.

For the flower I've used the small wrapped individual lollipops & the other year cut out construction paper flowers and used a thin green (cocktail) straw for the stem.

The other thing we do is for Christmas but would be great for Halloween....chocolate covered pretzel rods, oreos & marshmallows. Melt the chocolate, dip and roll in colored sprinkles....I know Michaels' craft store has the Halloween mix of brown & orange sprinkles.

What about monkey bread with the orange crystal sugar & chocolate sprinkles?! YUM!

I make orange jello jigglers and cut them with a pumpkin cookie cutter.

You could make orange rice krispy treats or regular ones with autumn sprinkle on them.
