Halloween time?

Is the Halloween party a big deal with special fireworks and trick-or-treating (like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party) or is it just that the park is open late?

There is a ticket only evening event with a special parade and various activities but it is not as big as the US events. Halloween is not much celebrated in Continental Europe so DLP doesn't go all out.

I think £35 ticket for is a bit steep if the party isn't much fuss.

Do you kmow what they usually do for Halloween ? I was looking to book this week specifically for the Halloween party . We will spend a fortune on a week, travel and tickets etc so am wondering if it's worth it

There's also no special parade though. This used to be a few years ago, not anymore.
Last year they did just the Halloween Cavalcade and Villains Promenade.
The same one that was on during the day.

The Halloween Soiree is great, but only if you're a character hunter.
The entire evening is basically just for meeting characters.
And since the organisation was terrible, you were lucky is you got to meet 2 characters on the entire night.

That's a real shame re the parade - last 2 years we were on our gap year so I didn't know that they had stopped it.

I wish that they had kept the Terror nights but that's something that was not suitable for lo's.

Personally from the sounds of it now I wouldn't bother just booking for the 31st.

If you want to see the Halloween decorations and the special m&g I book earlier in the month. French schools are on holday for 2 weeks at the end of October so the park is pretty full.

The program isn't known yet for this year so I can't tell you what is planned.

We where at the party last year.
We enjoyed it as it was our first so nothing to compare it too.
It was massively busy we didn't meet one character all night just did the shows and a few rides.

Like DLRPWonders ^^ they complain about the disorganisation of the event re the characters

It definetely looks well scaled down from 2012 which was already a bit dreary apart from the fact that the pumpkin people seemed to out in force

We were there last Halloween weekend although took the decision not to do the party (ticket event) as we were up at 4 am on 31st for our flight and I knew my children would be flagging by the evening. It was packed (capacity) on 31st, but my gamble paid off - we headed back to the hotel and were asleep by 9 pm! So, got up for EMH (in the Studios) the next day - it was a Saturday and it was amazing - so quiet - we had done something like 5-6 rides by 8.30 am, two of them being Crush which we've never been on before as the queue is always so long . Most people were clearly still in bed from the party!

Regarding the Halloween theming - it was amazing - we really, really enjoyed it. In fact, I don't know if I enjoyed it more than Christmas tbh. We loved meeting the Villains etc. My children were given bags of haribo sweets after every character they met - but no trick or treating as such (we didn't manage to eat them all we had so many!). And other than 31st, we really didn't find the parks that bad tbh - busy, but very manageable with a bit of planning. I would definitely go again, but not for a few years as we are off to WDW this year .

Another tip - we saw lots of people coming into the park from late afternoon dressed up for the party. However, my girls were dressed up from our arrival and they go so much attention from not only CMs, but characters and also other guests too which was a bit strange - we've had this before, but not to the extent we did at Halloween - we could barely walk 3 paces without something coming up to us.

Finally, as it was so busy, esp 31st, we ate at unusual times - we did a lot more CS meals this time than usual and found it worked really well because we weren't there at peak times. Inventions on 31st was fun (we did the lunch) as it was characters in Halloween costume - very funny and we got some great photos of groups of them with my girls which a lovely CM organised for us .

As you can probably tell from my ranting, we had a ball!

During the whole Halloween season they hand out little bags of Haribo sweets to children when they do a m&g. They don't get handed out just like that in the street sadly

Sorry, I missed your question as I am not on here much these days - over on WDW most of the time!

Carrie has answered, but no, they got bags of sweets (mini bags) when they met a character - we got that many that we got sick of them but didn't want to seem impolite and refuse . Actually, I can't recall sweets being given out on 1st November or the rest of the weekend - despite the fact that the Halloween theming was still on. I think it ended on 31st October.

As pp says - no special fireworks, but if you could stay on a few days and tag it onto the Bonfire fireworks maybe? Most people with kids have to be back for school though.

With everything else going on - mainly fab meet and greets and the mini parade etc - we didn't feel we needed anything else tbh.

But this isn't at the park, and not for Halloween.
Every year they do this 3 times in the first week of November, at Lake Disney.
It's always on Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the dates for this year being 2, 4 and 6 November.
It always starts between 20:30 and 21:00 and it's about 20 minutes long.
They don't use any Disney music, mostly just dance and eclectic.
It's nice to see if you're already happen to be there on those dates, but nothing too special and nothing I'd recommend staying longer for.

Yes this is specially for Bonfire night and it obviously appeals to the English guests but it's not Halloween orientated at all.

We did the Halloween soiree in 2008 and it was just GREAT, we had a ball and even though it costed us quite a lot it was well worth it.
I have never been again since so can't tell how it is now...
