Halloween Quest PTR~~THE TRIP IS OFFICIALLY OFF!

We started our 4th of July by spending time with the 4 kids in the backyard. We started with the bubbles & then moved onto the sprinkler. The twins really got into playing in the water!!! FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!

Next post.......Fireworks at my brothers!!

We went to my brothers house for a BBQ & fireworks. We all had a blast!! Shyann wasn't too sure about the big booms, but Michayla was fascinated by them. After about 10 mins, Shy got into the fireworks & didn't seem bothered by them. Both girls laid in their strollers & watched them go off up in the sky.

It was a very fun day & we didn't have to deal with big crowds & traffic nightmares!! We got to watch a wonderful firework display, courtesy of my baby brother & his family.

Wow, that is sure a lot of fireworks

Looks like a great show

:wizard:

That sounds like fun. I had a good fourth too.

I'm glad you did!!

My brother drives up to Washington & fills his trunk with fireworks. In Oregon you can't have any fireworks that shoot up in the air......so this was a sweet treat since we didn't want to attempt going to a big show & deal with the crowds & traffic. Of course, we're extremely spoiled by the DL fireworks.....but this was very fun!!

Looks like the kids all had a Fab Time! :)
So it was warm, thats good!
It's 99 here today in Northern Nevada!

Fireworks are outlawed here, but they had a nice show over the marina last night.. I didn't go. I have to get up too early so I'm in bed by 9pm!:rotfl:

We've had beautiful weather for the last few days in the 80's!!

The fireworks my brother was doing is illegal here in Oregon, but he definitely was not the only one doing them......lol

I actually know where your brother bought those-- that silly guy :). I did that one year to I had so many that I sold some for cost to friends. Oh, Ya I was their favorite for a long time. Thinking of going back up there -- to my place to buy fireworks-- next year.

The one year I got so many we had 4 guys setting off displays almost full time starting at just before dusk to about midnight. The whole block was over watching and enjoying. Neighbors lined lawn chairs up on street then would rate the display like the olympics

Place where I bought my displays had guards with semi-auto and guns similar to machine guns. I was actually a bit scared walking into the bunker. Oh the good old days. I call it being young and dumb LOL but sure makes for some good memories.

Oh ya the 4 guys actually ran out of pumps for lighting and went to matches and then ran out of those. Funniest part was they were all -- well they looked like they had been in a fire -- they were all black and gray. Their faces we covered with ash and black powder. They were all grown men about 35-40 years old.

I am thrilled the twins had such a good time. I bet the two older kids loved setting off the safe fireworks. Grand kids loved the sparklers and poppers. Their dad spent near $50.00 and really got hardly anything. Hence the trip to get the big boy displays.

We had a bear sighting Monday night in our neighbor hood. Actually just 4 -5 houses down the hill from us. The have set some traps. hope they get it and move it to the mountains.

Well best get stuff done around here. I have been lazy lately.

He had the balls that you put in a chute & light......then shoots up in the sky.......2 of them went off on the ground.....that was some scary stuff!!! We were about 20 feet from them!! :scared1:

I didn't pay a dime out for fireworks this year.....that was nice....especially since we're super tight on money right now.

 BEAR??? Yikes!!! Hope they do catch it & relocate it before you have a personal sighting!!

Yep, Laurie sounds like the "good" ones we had to. We had some that year that were 3 or 4 feet tall. The guys did put on a show. I think back on it now and wonder what were we all thinking -- young and dumb just has to explain it.

Not sure if bear has been caught. I was not happy we were not notified of the situation when sheriff first saw the bear. I live 2 miles from town. We live just out of city limits so we are not "country" rural. Actually very populated area with lots of kids that play outside, some even in the trees behind houses.

Are you still thinking of moving?

hope you have a good morning. Gotta be loving this weather, although I did need to turn the air on yesterday.

Bye bye for now.

It would be nice if they would notify you of a possible dangerous situation.....that's just scary & would make me a bit mad they didn't warn families in that area.

Still WANTING to move, Mike applied for a meat manager job in Phoenix, but hasn't heard anything on that yet. We might look into the Bend area of Oregon. We'd at least 6 months of warm, dry weather there.

Still waiting on our IRS check.....we're in week 11 & would love to see it show up!! Can't do anything until we have that in hand.

I'd love to turn the air on in our place....unfortunately they never put the units in.......they wired the homes & have pipes sticking out of the back of the house but never completed it. When we moved in, we looked at the thermostat & saw air, so we assumed it had it. We signed the lease & then realized there wasn't any. We have a 2 story & our backyard backs up to the back of a strip mall......so lots of blacktop.....lets just say that our backyard gets really hot!! Last summer, our downstairs hit 93 degrees, the upstairs was at least 20 degrees warmer & the backyard was like an oven.....not good!!! We do ok if it stays upper 70's, low 80's.....but when it creeps up to upper 80's & over......we're doomed!

I think today is the last 80's day & then in the 70's for the rest of the week.....I'll welcome it. You end up being completely drained sitting in a hot house.

Okay Laurie... I tried posting here the other day and my post went POOF! :confused

I hope you get your check soon! It's always refunds that take forever but there are at your door if you owe them money!!

Good luck on the job search for Mike! We are actually looking at moving OUT of CA! It is way TOO expensive and CROWDED! We are restricted on where we can go due to my MIL health insurance though...

I have my AP and I am planning on going to the first 2 Halloween parties... if you want we can discuss my purchasing your tickets for the Monday Party when you get your refund and you would save a few $$ I don't think there is any discount on the Friday party...

This refund unfortunately is not the "normal" refund which is why it's taking so long. The adoption credit is causing a lot of headaches for those of us waiting & depending on it. It's taking anywhere from 12 to ???? weeks to receive it. They are going over them very carefully & keep going back to the families asking for more paperwork or copies of the stuff they had already sent in & that just keeps delaying it. At least now they've said it's taking longer than expected & are paying interest on the money owed. We're at week 11 & haven't heard from them.....so hopefully we had everything we needed & it's just a matter of waiting on the check. We've heard of people receiving a letter for more documentation after 12 wks.....I sure hope that doesn't happen!!!

So far nothing on the job search.....but since we don't have the money we can't move anyways......so hopefully everything will just fall into place all at once!!

I need to renew my AP but again....can't do it until the money comes.....same for the tickets.....but if I can't take advantage of the AP Disc on the Monday party.....I'll let you know!! Thanx for such a kind offer!!!!
