We arrive late in the afternoon on Sunday, Oct 5. Should we go to the party that night (and not use our park hopper tickets, just go to the party)? Or should we go Friday, Oct 10 when we can be in the park earlier than the party? My guess is Sunday is a less crowded day, but what does everyone think?

Also where are the early entry days listed for each park?

Thanks.

We were deciding on which party to go to.. the first one on Friday night, Oct 3rd, or Sunday the 5th. We figured the 5th would be less crowded than a friday night! We have dinner ressies at the crystal palace for 5:30, and then were just going to stay in the park. We did the MVMCP last year, and it was our first party, I didnt know what to expect, and I was sooo unprepared. It was the first christmas party of the season, and I thought it was super crowded. So.. im hoping I will be better for this one!! We have never done the halloween party, so Im excited!!!

We also had the choice of the Oct 3 or Oct 5 party...I am hopeful that it won't be quite as crowded since it's a school night for the locals :)

as for the difference between the Oct 5 and Oct 10 parties, I'd say the same thing holds true as far as a school night goes. I would also consider that Oct 10 is the beginning of a long holiday weekend (Columbus Day) and I think they tend to be busier....

That said, I wouldn't spend that much money on the MNSSHP on your arrival day. What if you were late or tired? I'd go when you can enjoy it more :) JMO.

I'm also trying to figure out the Oct 3rd vs. 5th deal.

1) Less "local" traffic on school night-favors the 5th

2) Early entry to MK is Sunday-favors the 3rd

3) 1st day of MNSSHP is the 3rd-favors the 5th

I've never been before, and am trying to make the best decision regarding lighter crowds.

I am leaning towards the 5th, but am concerned about the impact of early entry.

Thanks for all the great opinions.

Sunday is EMH at MK, so hopefully, people would choose to take advantage of that & not to stay up late for the party that same night. Also, 10/10 (that is the day we are arriving), is the Friday of Columbus Day weekend. I would think a lot of people would be going then, as they probably have the time off from school. I think GA schools have that week off. Any day you go will be crowded, but I'm thinking 10/5 will be less desirable to other groups of people, better for you! Plus, the park will close early for the party the day you arrive, so you may miss MK altogether that day if you don't do the party. Sure you will be tired from traveling, but you can rest, eat and then have all that extra MK time the first night! It would start your vacation off wonderfully! We will be there 10/10-10/20, so we will have several opportunities to go to MNSSHP. We chose Tues, 10/14. Have a great trip!

We are arriving on Oct 3 around noon, so I thought we could just rest by the pool during the day, and go to the party at night. I always though Sundays were busier than Fridays at the MK?
I still haven't decided, it's just me and my DH, we did this 2 yrs
ago, it was so much fun, but it rained alot that night.

Hey, Frann - we'll be at the Oct 14 party too!!!! So excited - can't wait!!!

We were trying to decide between Oct 14 and Oct 16 - in fact, I even considered doing the party both nights! I bought my tickets for the 14th, and made my PSs at LTT. Its our first MNSSHP too - we've done the MVMCP three times, and love it!!!

Now, we decided to go to Cirque du Soleil on Oct 16.

I hope its not too crowded at the Party - but, at least we're at Disney - trick or treating with the Mouse!!!

Have fun on which ever night you decide!!!

We were going to arrive on Sunday the 5th, so I was stuck trying to decide if we'd be too tired to stay out late, or wait until Friday the 10th. We moved our travel day to Sat. the 4th, and I bought tickets for the Sunday 9/5 party. Everyone says the "locals" won't be out on Sunday nights like they will on Fridays. It WOULD be a chance for you to have a night at MK since they are few and far between during October with early closings. Melanie

We are going to be there on the 14th also.

A few years ago we went on the 31st. Even on the 31st it was not too crowded. They limit the number of tickets they sell and they seemed to have the right limit set.

If I know which princess, villain, character, etc, you will be, I'll be sure to look for you on the 14th! Can't wait!

We will be there on the 5th!! We are staying right next door at All Star Sports. Do you have any kids going with you?? What are you dressing up as? I was looking in the Disney catalog at the adult costumes. they are cute.. but soo expesive!! MAybe we will see you guys on the bus ride home!! :earsgirl:

Hey Frann - we haven't decided if we're going to dress up or not. I'll definitely at least have on a Halloween shirt/not sure about DH. Even my DD is having trouble deciding who she wants to dress up as - every time we're at the Disney store, she looks at all the princess dresses - just can't decide yet!

Where are yall staying at? Any PS for dinner that night? We're staying at the All Star Movies - and we have a PS for Liberty Tree Tavern! Can't wait! Maybe we'll see you sometime that night!!
