Halloween party costume rules

Just curious, how many of you think there's a chance Disney will change their minds about allowing adults to wear costumes during the Halloween party dates? Our family was super excited to go but changed dates one the rule came out (don't get me wrong, I'm all for security but this was a bit much). I'm still holding out hope they have a change of heart but wanted to hear your thoughts on what could happen.:thanks:

I'm hoping they will for the party -

Also, if today is any indication, they are very relaxed about what they consider a costume. Along with plenty of disneybounding I saw one woman dressed as Minnie Mouse and another dressed as one of HM elevator characters, and to me I would've considered their outfits costumes.

Disney just being relaxed about this would totally tick me off. If I pass on doing costumes, then show up and find other guests in costume only to find out Disney wasn't serious about this rule, as they are with so many others, I'd be very unhappy.

Make your rules. Put them in writing. And mean them please.

My daughter would very much like to wear a costume into the parks and while you are able to do so as long as you are under 14, anyone who saw her would likely think she shouldn't be allowed as she looks much older than her age, so she is reluctant. Did the costumes get out of hand and they just had to pull the plug altogether? I am sure it's a pain to try to control what is acceptable and what isn't. I know I'd not want to have to be the security person making that call.

I thought I read somewhere that the Halloween parties are exempt?

No, they just said at this time the rules will apply. That was when they first changed the rules. We probably won't know if they're going to make an exception until the tickets go on sale at the soonest.

I should have taken a picture... a couple of weeks ago I had to do a double take because there was someone dressed as Princess Leia, Han Solo, and another character. They weren't Disney, and they were adults, so I was really surprised to see that they were in the park dressed like that.

Man, I really hope they change their minds. Mom and I wanted to go as Hades and Meg for Halloween this year. ;_;

We went as catrinas last year and had a blast!!!

I agree. If your going to issue a rule please enforce it.

Same here. My wife has been so busy making our costumes (medieval knight and lady) that it would be a shame to put all that hard work to waste. We're even studying the mannerisms and language of the era to authenticate it all.

:C Oh dear, I'd love to see you guys in your costumes. It would be incredible! I was already making my Megara dress, and my mom's wig as well. :(

We won't be going to the Halloween Party unless there's dressing up allowed. Otherwise -- what's the point? I don't need to spend $70+ trick or treating!
