Halloween party at the Boardwalk?

Can anyone tell me about the Halloween festivities on 10/31 at the Boardwalk? Or any other party/festivity at WDW (other than MNSSHP).

Do the kids HAVE to have costumes? My 12 yr old is not dressing up for school before we leave for WDW, so we weren't getting her a costume.

The parties I was at at the Boardwalk 2000 & 2002 pretty much all of the kids were in costume...don't think it was required though...they have a DJ, dancing, cookie decorating, pumpkin decorating, couple other things don't remember....

this party isn't a guarantee but if they do it my kids really enjoyed it....

We were at the Halloween party at the Boardwalk last year and our kids had a really good time. They were dressed up in their costumes, but like zurgswife said not everyone was and it's certainly not required. They had a DJ and dancing for the kids, cookie decorating, trick or treating, and some craft stations set up if I remember correctly. Mickey was also there posing for pictures with the kids. If you can get there it's really a great time!

Do you recall when the festivities on the Boardwalk started? Was it all day, or just in the evening?

I tried finding any information about it on the Disney site, but couldn't find any mention of it.

I don't know the exact time but I would say it probably started around 6 or 7. I remember we spent the day at Epcot and headed there afterward.

We've been to WDW the past two October's and I can't say enough about what a great time of the year it is to go. Great weather, Food and Wine Fest, Halloween festivities. I could go on and on. Man.....I wish we were going this year too!! Have fun everyone.

I have been looking all over this board for ideas for Halloween, thanks for the info. I even called guest services for ideas.
