halloween or Xmas

We are booked for 11/6-11/12 already to enjoy Xmas but i am debating switching to 10/30-11/6.

Anyone know how the Fort is for Halloween and Trick or treating.

The Fort is awesome for Trick or Treating!! Most of the campers set out at the end of their driveway and give out candy. I know we gave out 50 or 60 pounds worth.

By the way 10/30 - 11/6 are our dates for Halloween also

Congrats! You'll love the Fort for Halloween!

Just FYI, but if you're looking to book next year to be there in time for all the Christmas decorations/happenings, best bet is to book later in November - ideally Thanksgiving week or later.

MK gets decorated in time for the first MVMCP (last 2 years this was 11/10) - exception is the big tree which in recent years hasn't been going up until after the Christmas parade taping.

This year HS was also decorated in time for the 11/10 opening of Osborne light - however this was earlier than the previous year when they didn't start until the day after Thanksgiving. Not sure what future years will bring.

Everything else generally goes up at varying rates throughout November, with it all being in place for the big holiday kickoff the day after Thanksgiving.

This past year AK and EP were decorated about a week after MK and HS (around the 14th-ish). DTD was done fairly early in November. We left on 11/20 and saw hardly anything in the resorts. From what I gather, those decorations started going up the weekend before Thanksgiving - although not sure about GF, as the gingerbread house as open sometime mid-Nov.

Thanks for the info....I m glad I changed it. It thought everything would be decorated around the 10th of Nov. We can't go any later than that. So I guess we would miss out on alot.

Maybe next year we will go week of Thanksgiving. We really don't do much but eat anyway

The Fort is amazing for Halloween! We went a few years back, and had a blast. We did MNSSHP on the 30th, and then rented a golf cart for Halloween night, and didn't hear once...."my feet hurt"...it was well worth it!!

Halloween is much more fun when it falls on a Friday or Sat. this year is on Sun. Unless alot of kids get school breaks it won't be near as crowded this year.

We go the weekend prior and leave on Monday or Tuseday the week of Halloween - there is tons to do then as well! Love It! Also, Walgreens carries Walt Disney Stuff for every holiday! ​

Yep, with the big going ons on Halloween night, no way I'm leaving on the 1st. Will have to just plan annual trips around the date.

We were there in mid Oct last year. We loved seeing all the Halloween decorations.

However, hands-down, Christmas is my favorite time of year to visit! It's simply magical in the Magic Kingdom during that time.

We did the Halloween party our first night there & the Christmas party our last night there. It was a terrific beginning & end to our trip. I'd recommend it if you can do it.QUOTE]

Tiggers - what was your strategy with the kids at the parties? I notice yours are as small as mine. We really want to do the Christmas party on our Dec trip this year, but I'm worried about them wanting to go to bed at 9 and it not being worth paying for the party if they want to bolt that early.
