Planning to do both eventually but which would you recommend first??
and how far in advance would i need to book??
Loved DLP and currently driving hubby mad with constantly talking about it! lol
:scared1::santa:

I'd reccomend Halloween first because that's next month, and then I'd recomend Christmas second because that's 2 months after!

Christmas over Halloween no contest

Loved Halloween 2009-2010 but 2011

If they bring back all the special events and Halloween decs of a couple of years ago it's great fun but will never beat the Christmas season :goodvibes

Never been at Halloween, but I love Christmas at DLP.

Great idea!!! :rotfl:

Hi, just wondered what DLP is like at Christmas? Do they have Father Christmas? Thanks

Well I'm going to go against the tide here and say Halloween if you intend doing both eventually anyway. We did Halloween first and really enjoyed it as a first seasonal trip. Christmas is the most special but it is nice to build up to that and Halloween has the advantage of often having good weather too.

Halloween is more "fun" whereas Christmas is more magical.

I had the same question before I went to them both. Halloween is very cool and up beat. Christmas is slower, but there is just something about being on Main Street USA watching the parade while it is snowing that is just fantastic!

That being said we are going back for Halloween this year after doing two years of Christmas parties.

Regardless of what you pick you will have a blast! :thumbsup2

We did both last year and were distinctly underwhelmed with Halloween. I would only do that season again if we had tickets to either of the parties (the one in the studios sounds awesome). Christmas on the other hand was amazing, especially with a little one.

I completely agree with Carrie Cat.

Halloween used to be absolutely fantastic with orange pumpkin men throughout Main St and Frontierland.
Last year, OMG, what a complete let down. Nothing in the way of the pumpkin men or much else come to that. In fact in my opinion if you didn't know it was Halloween then you would never ever of guessed looking at the parks.

Christmas however is magical, such a lovely time to go.
We always try to visit at the very beginning of January each year, that way we still get to see all the xmas stuff but it is soooo nice to have something to still look forward to once Christmas and the New year has finished

I agree, last year's Halloween was a let down but at its best it is such a fun season with so much to see and loads of villains out and about that only come out in this season. I hope that Disney noted last year's dissatisfaction and this year will be back on track.

I just think that as in the same way that we just have the DLH to stay in now, I like to leave the best to last so would (and did) do Halloween before Christmas. They are, or can be, both fantastic seasons but Halloween does at least have the advantage of better weather on the whole.

This thread is making me feel :yay::yay::yay: as we are going for our first Christmas trip this year and I can't wait.

We were lucky to experience Halloween on our first trip to DLRP and it was truly amazing but having read all the comments about how it has changed, I can see how it is a let down now sadly . Let's hope Disney take a note of the comments and revert back to the magical way it was portrayed before. I would consider going again at this time, but only if it were more upbeat like in the past.

I loved reading this thread and people's comments about Christmas - I think I'll keep re-reading to keep the excitement going! Can't wait to see my little girls' faces when they know they are going to meet Santa in Disney Paris! I have wanted to visit Disney Paris since the first time we visited but it's just never happened due to timing. But this year I can't wait!!! :cool1::cool1::santa::santa:

Thanks for sharing all your comments :).

PS - Carrie - thanks for the links - shall peruse tonight :rolleyes1;)!

I'm a complete Christmas nut!
Think has to be Halloween first hopefully next year!! Eek!! Obsessed with DLP at the mo! Lol

Christmas is great fun, the tree lighting ceremony is fantastic and the decorations around the park are lovely. We had about 1ft of snow and was -8c in the evenings during our last trip so dress up warm, drink plenty of hot chocolate and prepare to be blown away when you walk down Main Street with the carols playing in the back ground.

Halloween was a let down last year and Park Management have admitted they made mistakes and will be doing things differently this year.

If you are there for Halloween get tickets for the Terrorific Night party at WDS. It's very good and very scary. Not recommended for younger children.

Me I would do Christmas first and stay at the Sequoia Lodge Hotel. Cocktails around the fire place in the Redwood bar is the way wonderful way to relax at the end of your day.

this a great thread my wife and I are making our first "seasonal" trip to DLP in November and can't wait to see all the christmas overlay for the park

My wife is pregnant with our first child which is due in April but may also try and tempt her with a halloween visit next year if this year it picks up again
