Welcome to the cruise!!

The FE is a gift exchange between the fellow disboards cruisers. You can give any gift you'd like to give and it can be given to each person or each cabin. You can give one gift per cruise or how many ever you'd like. The gift giving is entirely up to you. It's just a fun way to surprise your fellow cruisers

I added my room number for my FE I upgraded back to my original room number well the one next to my old one. lol. I have only had a balcony on Disney and didn't think I could do an inside room. I just had to pay and downgraded for a week. SO I added my room number to my FE. I am getting SOOOOO excited and still confused on what costumes we will be doing.

I just looked at our cruise online. They are offering GTY of $1129 now.

I'm just wondering who out there has a 4 or 5 year old boy. My little guy is already signed up for the kids club, but I just wanted to see if there were any others out there. Maybe we could do a meet before they are thrown into the club together...we are a little shy around new people. Just a thought! Girls too....
SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!pixiedust:

We have two 5 year old girls with us. Molly is loud confident and well she makes her presence known and Maylee is quiet and shy I think a meet up before we put them in the kids club is a great idea! Let me know the place and time and we will see you there! x

Costumes are a bone of contention at the moment with us. Molly wants us all to be toy story characters, she wants to be Jessie. I wouldn't mind being Woody or Buzz but she keeps changing her mind. We are not buying new costumes because we went to Disneyland Paris in May and she got 5 new costumes one of which was Jessie. So we are either going as Toy Story Characters or one of the princess movies characters. Whats everybody else dressing up as? x

I am dressing up, speaking of that, I better get working on my costume. Lots of sewing / scrounging to do. I don't want to give it away though!

Is anyone doing Mickey's not so scary halloween before the cruise? There is one the Thursday before (the night we get there) and we're thinking about doing this instead of LaNouba. Has any one done the MNSSHP before?

We did it last year. Our kids got a massive amount of candy. As the night goes on the park really starts to empty and you feel like you have the place to your self. A tip, this event includes park admission. You can get in at 4pm. If you want to get to the MK earlier, then you need to use a whole day on a real ticket. I hope that makes sense.

Of the two parties, Christmas and Halloween, Christmas is by far my favorite. That is not to say that Halloween is bad, I just think that Christmas has a different feel. Partially because Halloween is only themed at the Mk. While Christmas is theme at the entire WDW. Disney pulls out all the magic for Christmas.

I have seen a few Cirque du Soleil shows (LN, Love at the Mirage and a traveling one) and compared to the others, LaNouba just as good others. Though love was my favorite and a must for any Beatles fan. If you do LaNouba I would recommend catagory 2 tickets.

That said if it was me, picking lanouba or the partying would say it like this:
For value of amount of activity per doller the party is a better deal.
But if you want to have a more relaxed date like event go LaNouba.

My pick: party - while LaNouba is just as good as other Cirque du Soleil shows it isn't the best one and there are plenty of other places you can see Cirque du Soleil. But Alaska to WDW is a long flight might as well maximize doing what is unique to WDW and that time of year.

That is my 2¢
(But I know you will have fun regardless of which one you do!)

Ok FE gifts I have a question for those with children. Are there any children who really don't like arts and crafts?

Also is most people doing one gift per state room or individual gifts? x

We decided to go ahead with LaNouba--figured we'd get a lot of Halloween stuff/activities on the cruise and I really wanted to see LaNouba.

Any ideas for adult Halloween costumes? I'm still stuck!

You will love it.

Seriously thought, if you haven't purchased your tickets already, get catagory 2.

Here is why:
• the so called "better" sections are a fair amount more money
• you spend the whole night tipping your head back to see everything.
• it is hard to appreciate the magnitude of it since you are so close to the stage.
• there is some stuff that will go on behind you that may be hard to see
• you won't be able to see the sides as well (that is where the musicians are)
• the theater is much smaller then you think

you may have read this already, but i'll post it just in case (or if someone else is interested). here is what mousesavers says about LaNouba and possible discounts.

update:
as a point of reference, when we saw LaNouba a few years ago, we sat in section 205, row EE, seats 5-9. The view was incredible. Irronically my wife's parents went a few years later and sat in the exact same seats and raved about them.

We typically do one per stateroom and include a handful of things, but this time we're doing one per person. I'm used to having free labor to help, but since the kids don't know I have to make/assemble/pack it all myself. Starting now so I can ship it to the boat even though we're driving.

We are giving one per person.

I am doing one per person too but I know I'm totally over thinking it and am worried that my FE gifts are going to be crap LOL I really am so excited.

For those of you that have already started making your gifts are you making extras in case there are more sign ups for the FE? I need to order in materials to make my gifts but wondering how many extra I should make just in case we have some sign ups within the next few weeks.

Debs x

We did buy some extra materials figuring we could use them for future projects/gifts if we don't need them. Already overwhelmed at the thought of making 70 gifts, but I suppose I'd rather have extras than not enough!

We purchased 100 of our gift.

At one month out I will make it so that only I can edit the FE list. I will also close the list, and anyone wishing to do so will be allowed, with the understanding that gifts have been purchased/made for the closing date set of numbers.

We are giving one per person.

If we do Halloween before the Cruise. I will do mine at Disneyland in Middle of October because I live in Las Vegas and I am only 4 hour drive and one hour flight from Disneyland. I am also going to Disneyland on this FRIDAY!!!! for opening of everything. I have no Husband and Kid because they went to Jamiaca without me!!! Long story I wanted Disney Cruise and he wanted Jamaica.

Also we might mix up the gifts for the FE. I am kind of still trying to make my TUTU for Halloween wear. Not sure if I am making TUTU's for all my outfits. I was thinking of going all out for the Halloween Cosutme but not sure if I want to do it.

I am also getting excited and knowing the MAGIC is getting Renovated now.

I am trying to be crafty but I am not sure if I am crafty???

I decided to run/walk the Castaway Cay 5k while my husband is fishing that morning. I figure I'll be done before he even starts fishing, but it'll give me something to do. I need to start training this week--I'd like to run the 5k, but I have no experience running, other than training for gymnastics and taekwondo. I may end up having to walk some of it...

Is anyone else participating in the CC5k? It would be nice to meet up with any fellow disboarders who are also participating. It looks like we sign up the morning of the run... Has anyone done the race before that can fill me in on any info? Thanks!
