I heard that Halloween was a little skimpy this year, that worries me for our Christmas cruise. What didn't they do that they normally do? I also heard they merrytime cruises aren't doing cookie so far this year, could that be a pre december situation?

We did a Merrytime exactly 3 years ago this week on the Fantasy, and we had cookie decorating available.

We’ve done HOTH cruises for multiple years - with the last one being 10/29. Didn’t notice anything different at all.

From the people I’ve talked to the experience for Halloween seemed to vary based on the ship and cruise length this year. We were on the Fantasy and had a lot more than the Wonder last year and I think we had pretty much everything I’ve heard of them doing for Halloween. However I had friends on shorter cruises on the Wish and Wonder who had far less and definitely were missing things we had.

For the Fantasy it was actually the first year Halloween was an actual day at sea. My previous HOTHS it was just a few characterset on one of the portdays and an inside dance party. Now it was the entire day so it was super easy to cover all the characters. The only thing on the fantasy that was less is that nowadays the Halloweentree is fully decorated as from the start of the cruise and just one little show the first night. In the past they would add pumpkins each night. I ve only had one HOTHS cruise in 2011 where trick or treat was actually spread out over the entire ship so this congaline to get candy that isn't much of a trick or treat'feeling' is no real surprise and mainly efficient I would say. I would just have liked it not being during the deckparty (time before and after the show was limited but we got around once so that's fine.

We did HOTHS on the Magic. What a joke. No organization, literally 4 stations with cheap candy, most of it inappropriate for young children.

I can't believe they're cutting the cookies! It was bad enough when they went from the gingerbread houses to the cookies and now not even that?! How many more things will they cut?

We'll be 5 days on the Wonder but we'll also be on board over actual Christmas Eve and Christmas day so that may make a difference.
