My husband and I are planning on going to Halloween Horror nights for a long weekend in October. I was there once about 8 years ago. I know that it was soooooo scccccaaaaarrreeeyyyyy when I went, and would only imagine it's gotten better!! (as in more scarier!) Has anyone been there in the last couple of years? Can you tell me what it's like during Halloween Horror nights? how many days would we need to stay?

Has anyone ever been to six flags great america, and can compare "fright fest" to "halloween horror nights?"

We were there last October for our Anniversary. It was great. Go to IOA during the day and stay when it closes at 5:00 and have dinner. They will check your tickets and allow you to stay in designated areas. Some of the houses open early and you get to go in before anyone else, so the fear factor is higher because the scareactors are focusing only on you and there is no one in front warning where the scareactors are. The rides are also cool at night, and we did not find any long lines for them. I bought the express book for the first weekend they were open, and for us it made it well worth the price not to wait in the long lines for the houses. You can NOT use your FOTL room key for HHN, you must purchase a seperate one. The only detractor is that later in the evening the drunks start being slightly more obnoxious, and they push alcohol everywhere so there are lots of them. I want to go again in a year or two.

We were there last year and it was our first time. I loved it. I'm a fraidy cat so i was scared i'd be too scared. It was so amazing though i just kept telling myself they would'nt touch me. LOL I loved it and we booked the HRH for two nights the weekend of Halloween for this year. I loved loved loved. If we could i'd be there atleast three nights. We got AP rates at HRH for 164 standard room. Funny i just called about next week and go 159 poolview go figure. Those are AP rates too. We had a fantastic time we tooled around in the parks till closing the we would stop and get our tickets for HHN's and EXPRESS PASS books. I loved the express books yes it was expensive to purchase the tickets and the books but we really had a great time getting in and out of lines fairly quickly. We did'nt rush to see it all so fast we knew we would'nt be in a line long so that was great. We plan to do it exactly the same this year. We'd go eat at the Palm's or Margaritville before going back for HHN then leave the park about midnight go back to Margaritville sit on the porch and watch the musician there and listen to great tunes and grab some GREAT appetizers and head back to the HRH. It was great and I bet you'll have a great time. As for the poster before me we did'nt encounter rude drinkers everyone was having a great time there was a ton of security and park workers i did'nt see anyone out of the way on our visit maybe we where just lucky.

Hi, also went last year

SO SCARY!!! But amazing...I hardly could recognize the prak the way they made it over and I WAS SCREAMING LIKE A LITTLE GIRL in the haunted houses (it doesnt take much for me, but trust me its scary) The best thing I did was buy the special express ticket book for that nite..almost everything had an hour wait...we wouldnt have been able to do everything if we didnt have them.

We also went last year. It was on the last night of the HHN and it was fab. We had already bought express tickets before we left and they really saved us time. We literally walked into all of the houses without any wait. It was scary but it was lots of fun.

You will have a great time.

Hi guys. Are the express books for the haunted houses, the rides or both? I was planning on buying the one they sell all the time for both parks the day we are going, but is there also a special one for HHN? Do they sell it online with the HHN tickets? Thanks!

Last year the express books had tix for the houses and also for some of the other popular rides too. Such as hulk, dragons and dudley.

Barry, last year's express books had all the houses and all the rides (excluding the ones that were not scheduled to be open for HHN).

Cokegal - the best HHN advice is to keep an eye on these boards. The first year we went, we were hopelessly lost. Last year, we aced the joint (granted, following Barry around helped out a lot).

And Prince Eric is absolutely, positively right - Stay and Scream beats the pants off of waiting for them to open the gates. I'd wager we got through the first three haunts before the rest of the crowd was anywhere near us.

We bought express books last year for HHN--the first night and it was for rides and houses. We really didnt need it, there were no lines that night at all.

We went last October. I've got 2 teenage boys. I am a MAJOR chicken. I got tickets on-line to the park for all of us and the boys and their Dad were going to do Halloween Night, but Dad got sick. So, I ended up going with the boys. They had a blast because I screamed all night! The only disappointment was that we found the Halloween Night tickets were cheaper at the park than what I had purchased on-line. That was an unexpected surprise. We did not realize at the time that you could get express passes for the night until we saw other people using them. Live and learn! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

They are a special pass you purchase to allow you to "go to the head of the line". Most of the rides have two lines at the entrance; one for regular patrons, one for express pass holders.

What is the price for the express pass? Does your hotel room key work for this? Does it only get you in the Haunted Houses once or as many times as you want?

Once.

How much are tickets to HHN? And are they multi-day passes? We have AP's, I know there is a discounted price. We have never been before but will be in Orlando for the week of Oct 24-31, I have been wanting to go to HHN for soooo long.
