We were planning a trip to Orlando for the 4th of July but have decided instead to go late Sept./ early Oct. We've always wanted to to Halloween at Universal and MNSSP at Magic Kingdom. I'm hoping some of DISers can offer some advice on when to purchase my tickets for HHN (I know it's a separate price)? Also, do I have to purchase thru Universal or is there a place I can get a discount price? When do the tickets go on sale? Can we see everything in one evening? We're really excited and can't wait to get this booked. Let me know what to expect!!!! Thanks.

You can purchase them as soon as they go on sale. I don't think that there were any sellout nights last year, but this year could be different.

I'm not sure if they are still available through Spencer Gifts anymore, but there are usually several different discounts available through Universal (Coke, Burger King, AAA, AP, Florida Resident...)

Usually around July-August.

You can, if you do at least one or two of the following:
1) Go on a non-peak night.
2) Do the "Stay and Scream" option, and try to hit 2 houses before the "regular" guests get in.
3) Buy the HHN Express pass.
4) Take the RIP tour.
5) Stick with just the HHN houses and shows, save the regular rides until after you've done all the rest.
6) Have a game plan. Watch the boards to see what houses have the longest lines, and try to hit them either right at the beginning of the night, or at the very end.

As far as getting discounts online I think that you can only get them if you buy your park pass at the same time (ie Stay & Scream) we bought ours on one of our first days in US & I seem to remember that Guest services gave us the Coke discount. We then just arrived early got our wrist bands & stayedin at park closing, which gave us all time for our face painting (become a bit of a tradition!!). They normally open 2 houses early but one is only for those doing the dinner show but as soon as they have all been thru, they open that up as well. Which gives you a 2 house head start! If you miss out the rides & do the houses first then you should manage them all but be warned it will be busy, this will be our 4th & it has got busier every year!

We bought tickets for the parks and HHN at Spencers - they honored the FL resident discount too
