Halloween Horror Nights FAQs?

I just went to look at the website

Looks like a flex Sunday to Friday and a Saturday to Friday flex tickets

$80.99 for Saturday and $69.99 for all single nights

No release on multiple day passes yet

I was reading rumors last week and surprised they are going to start selling tickets this soon

You know the multi day passes will come later

Last year thought Saturday went for $104

And Friday was next most expensive ticket

(Single night tickets )

I'll hit 8 nights this hhn season and willl go with the multi pass
Surely they will offer it

Is it time to start the official HHN 27 threads? Universal revealed the calendar today! I wonder why Thursday, September 28 is not an HHN night.

As a side note, today Southwest released fares for September. My wife and I are booked at PB and have plane tix for the first weekend. Can't wait!

Thanks for that link!

When UO releases more info, might be good to start an informational thread

Only say that as there will be a new ticket set up with different options

And a new hhn season 9/15 to 11/4

okay.. question about HHN and IOA. On the nights of HHN, is IOA open later as well? HHN is the last 2 nights of my trip and I would really love to spend one of those nights at IOA during the night.

Are those all the dates? i find we week of Sept 24th kind of odd. There isnt any HHN on the Thursday but there is the week before. Just seems odd. Thats the week i was planning but I will arrive on Sunday and leave on Friday so we have to move our week.

It is very strange about Thursday the 28th not being open. Maybe somebody rented the park for a private party that night. That would be a heck of a private RIP tour.

I'm doing the exact same thing, @buzzrelly - flying in Friday afternoon before Halloween & staying at HRH for the first time before transferring to Boardwalk/DVC Sunday for the week of the race. I was able to get a package for 2 day park-to-park tix and Saturday night HHN ticket. I'm debating modifying it to add either the RIP tour for my HHN night or Express, given that it's a Saturday and my first time at HHN

@kristenabelle Did you book a package directly with Universal? I haven't even made any reservations yet…I'm wondering if I should look into this?

I did! I know some folks say booking a la carte may be more cost effective, but it's just me (family is meeting me for WDW leg only), so I wanted to make sure I had something booked. I'm not sure how quickly tickets sell out once they're released, so I figured a package would keep me covered for the basics. It was a $50 deposit with the remainder due 45 days out, though I plan on paying it in advance.

Thanks! I'll have to look into that, but I don't think it will work for me because we are going back next year so we may purchase Annual Passes instead. I know people say planning is so much easier for UO, but I'm way more confused! Gott keep reading, I guess :P

I'd book your room sooner than later. HRH is the smallest onsite resort and dates during HHN tend to sell out. There looks to be quite a bit of availability right now, but they will start to go away in the next few months. Not sure your dates but you can book now and get an adjustment if an AP rate or lower price becomes available.

Thanks! I was hoping the rates would drop, but maybe I'll just go ahead and book now.

They might but as it gets closer to oct but I doubt they will. Not sure of your dates or how many nights you intend to book. As it gets closer, the resorts will usually start implementing minimum of 2 or 3 night bookings. Especially for a weekend booking.

Packages are fine as long as you do not make changes on them

$50 fee for any change you make

If you have a short stay, a package can work fine to meet your needs

I have the ap and do about a 2 week onsite stay

For October, I can use smsm code to get the room cheaper than a package or with the ap the past years

Let me piggy back on pcstang's post and say that the standard rooms at the deluxe hotels can fill up in July for some dates

Usually late spring, the 3 deluxe hotels will require a Friday/Saturday combined weekend
If you book prior before the above is enforced, a person can book a single weekend night

I booked last October for this coming October at $185 a night (smsm)
Few weeks back the same room has increased already

Usually the rates increase rather than decrease once it is August

Only times I know of price drops when close to hhn opening is when a convention has been cancelled and those rooms go back to the inventory

I am hoping that those of you that have had APs for years can help me decide what to do......After doing HHN last year, we are hooked. We live close and can drive to Orlando in less than a day so we do go often. There are no plans for a trip this summer until October (we just did a Disney one in Feb). We do see ourselves wanting to go more and we are trying to work the numbers to see what option is best.
Okay so what I am trying to decide is if we all truly need APs or if just one of us needs one? Since we will all be together any way, do we really all need one? I could get the Premier in my name and book the room at the discounted rate and buy everyones HHN and park tickets when I get there correct? I mean we will be in one car, in one room, so do we all need a Premier with free parking. Does this make sense or am I rambling? LOL Am I missing something with this plan? Or do we need to get one Premier and preferred for everyone else? There is 4 of us.
I really thank you in advance for any info.

go with one person with the ap.
preferred ap would be fine.
others can go with lower end ap or tickets.

the lower end aps have black out periods
go during a black out time and those ap's are a waste.

get one ap and buy the tickets with the ap discount
