Halloween Horror Nights FAQs?

RIP will guarantee all houses, scare zones, Bill and Ted's show, and possibly a ride or two. Literally skip to the front of every line using shortcuts. However, you might not be able to spend much time in the scare zones, you might not get to see the other show, and you might not get to do some rides. But, after the RIP tour ends, you should have some time left for the scare zones, rides, and possibly the other show.

For your date, it's hard to say which would be better. If the crowds were expected to be worse, I'd say definitely get the RIP. The Express Pass might be all you need though. Tough call. Be sure you do get the RIP or EP though.

The year we only had one night, we opted for the RIP, and we were very happy we did. Since we're going multiple nights this year, we're back to the EPs.

ep as a stand alone ticket has not been released yet.

i think that info will be released when they put up the rest of the ticket sales.

(rush of fear/ff/ ap, etc)

Yeah I did see that all I can buy right now is the tickets for the night we want to go. But not the express pass or RIP tour yet. So I guess that means I have time to figure out what I need. I'm not too worried about the shows. I just want to be able to hit up all the houses (without spending 45-2hrs in line) and the scare zones and maybe hop on a ride or 2 before we leave. We cruise the next morning so I'm gonna need some strong coffee to wake me up! lol

Will you be able to take advantage of Stay and Scream (be in the park before it closes for HHN)? If so, you get a head start on the houses before the public comes in the front gates. You'll get to go through a couple houses quickly and with Express Passes, you can cruise through the rest. You'll have time to enjoy the scare zones at your own pace and hop on some rides (you get to use your EP for rides too).

The RIP tours start later than Stay and Scream, and the tours have built in breaks and Bill and Ted's show. So if you do rides (RIP gets you express for rides) and revisit the scare zones, your night would probably be longer with the RIP.

Either way, you're going to have a great time!

Hi I am looking to attend HHN on 9/15. I see tickets are already on sale so was thinking about buying a single night flex ticket, however I want to purchase EP also, how do you normally purchase this, can you purchase both at same time ascant see where? first timer never been before so any help gratefully received

the public rip tours last 4.5 to 5 hours.

you can pick the start time for this tour.

if you choose a 7 pm start, you will have time after the tour to do hhn on your own pace.

some peeps pick the last rip tour of the evening and start the park when it opens for the houses as lines are shorter then.

private rip tours are 7.5 hours long and a 30 minute dining time period is added on
the group decides on the touring plan and houses can be repeated

since i plan on 8 nights of hhn, i am waiting for the monthly hhn pass with ep

you can purchase single night hhn tickets and also ep tickets.
you would have two separate tickets then.

monthly pass can have the ep included
rof, ff, etc

Thanks, I am in the UK and have already purchased my UO tickets from a ticket agency here, so cant do the add on. I have found the Halloween Horror night flexi ticket Sunday-Friday for $69.99 but you don't pick a night with that ticket, it says entitles one guest admission to one 2017 Halloween horror night event night on any sun-fri for the ticket type, does that mean I can go any day Sun-fri, what if event sells out in advance would I still get in with that ticket type on the night? Also am I best to wait to purchase till the EP becomes available and purchase them both together? Sorry for all the questions!

Yes the flex means you can use the hhn on any of the nights except Saturday

If you go to hhn by 8pm, the park would not be full at that time

Your choice to wait and buy tickets when all choices are released or even when you get to the parks

I am waiting for the multi night pass with ep
They have not been released yet

Tickets have not gone on sale to the public this far out before

Thanks for quick reply, I will hang on for a bit and wait for other passes etc to be released.

Nope cause we're just hanging out at the hotel during the day. Some relaxing pool time. My youngest will NOT do HHN. So we will be leaving her at the hotel with my bff's parents while we take the older kids to HHN. But I do agree that we definitely will need to add on EP or RIP. I don't care too much about the show.

Thank you! I can't wait! My middle son is only going to be 14 but he's over 6ft tall already. So we all plan to hide behind him. ;)

Another question sorry! As we have a UO standard 14 day park ticket, on the night of HHN we are attending, I am hoping to get into the park before it closes to the public to get into one of the holding areas, what is the latest they admit you to the parks those days? Thank you

When we used to do the holding areas if we weren't already in the park we made sure we were in no later than 4.30 and went straight to where the holding area was.

Park does officially close at 5pm though.

Thanks for reply, we aim to get there for about 4pm that day, is there a particular holding area that is best to head for?

It depends.......once the map has been released you can see what houses are closest to each holding area.......they usually have 2 houses open early, so you get a good start before they let the general public in. Choose which you prefer.......

We used to always wait outside Finnegans.......last year the only night we did a holding area we went Simpsons......I actually preferred that one as they had seats........beats sitting on the steps in NY area........we don't do the holding areas generally now as we go so many nights during our trip, but with one night.......it's ideal to do it.

That's my thinking, never been before and didn't think for a moment we would get to do it this trip either as I thought it would start the weekend after and we would be home, we now get the opportunity the very last night of our holiday so I really want to maximise our time there so EP and the holding area seems the way to do that, as probably wont get back there for a couple of years! Do they release the maps of what is in each area in advance of opening night, as thats the night we are going?

You'll see on some websites the hhn maps before it opens to the public

@schumigirl I noticed you go multiple nights…is that what most people do? We are only spending two nights, should we go both nights? Can you get through most of he houses in one night with the EP?
Lots of people only go one night, as it can get pricey if you are traveling with kids, although young children should NOT attend HHN, but teens and up will love it (if they like horror and getting scared). If that is your thing, you can have a new experience every night, and not get bored, regardless of how frequently you go.
