Can anyone tell me anything more about HHN 17. Myself and my family are coming over to USF/IOA in mid October and are planning on taking in the HNN for the first time. What way does this work with the park ride times. Is HNN on every night in October or just selected nights.

I would appreciate any help i can be given.

i suggest you go back and read the other threads that have been posted on for hhn. you will gain a lot by that.

go to youtube and search for videos of hhn there. i know some people that have quite a few on that

go to halloweenhorrornights.com for last years event

hhn is a hard ticket event. you need a separate ticket for it, your day ticket is not valid for hhn.

hhn is on friday, sat, sun in the month of oct. don't believe the last weekend of sept has sunday on for the first weekend hhn event.

there have been some thurs at the end of the month in the past but hhn dates have not been released to the public yet.

peak nights are 6:30 pm to 2 am
non peak closes at midnight.

peak nights cost more than non peak

rides are open in the park that hhn is taking place.

i do the rides in the daytime and use the evenings for the houses and special show bill and ted.
there are scareactors in the park and select scare zones that guests can walk through. there is also an opening event when hhn first begins.

i go to the stay and scream area to get a head start on the hhn event.
it is a holding place to wait while the park clears out for the daytime guests until the evening event begins.

HHN is on selected nights in October. You can choose to go to the park in the day before HHN, and as long as you have your tickets, they will allow you to do "Stay and Scream" where you can stay in a holding area in the park and be one of the first into the event. As for how the rides work during the event, it depends on the ride and the park in which it is held. Last year it was held at the Studios and there were only certain rides that were open such as MIB, Mummy, Shrek, Earthquake......it depends on what day you go.
Any other information specifically about 17, no one knows yet. Its still too early. Look back for more info in July.

Thanks that is really appreciated. Do you think a 9 (almost 10) year old boy would be okay at this. he loves USF/IOA - he is okay with most scary films. Also has anyone been on the new everest ride in Disney? I wont be going on it but my husband is looking for feedback about it as there arent very many pictures of it as yet.

NO. I have a 9 almost 10 yr old boy, and he is not ready. Use your own judgement, but I would strongly recommend against it. My son loves Universal, so much so he's helping out with IOACentral Radio this week......:cool1:
But he is definately not ready for HHN..and I'm not ready for him to be that grown up yet. Howl O Scream in Tampa, maybe. I would say wait and try him on a local haunt, something maybe done by kids.

Although I have been told more than a few times that each kid is different, I totally agree with you. 9-10 is just too young.

9 or a 10 or even a 11 year old is too young for hhn.

universal doesn't even see children's tickets for hhn.
they only sell adult tickets.

and they advertise it has a mature theme to it.

have been on everest expedition. it's a short ride.
it's fine
you go forwards for the first part of the ride and then it goes in reverse.

it's only worth going on if the line is short. you will be disappointed if you wait an hour for it

Take a look at this video montage from last year's event which should help you decide for yourself.

We would tend to agree with the others that 10 years old is too young. Universal clearly states on their HHN website that the event may be too intense for young people and honestly, of the past few events we've attended, there were very few, if any young children there. This event is a far cry from Disney's Mickey's Halloween Party and is geared towards adults not children.

Just to the join the chorus, no way--9 is just too young for HHN. As MacRaven said, they only sell adult tickets, there's a reason for that.

12-13 is the age kids can go to HHN.

I'd add "some" to that, I've seen 12-13 year olds freaked out too

Me too! Poor boy was in a RIP Tour next to us and left the tour with his Mom he was so scared. The family also had no idea what HHN was about, they won the tour in a contest!

I started going to HHN when I was 14. I got scared stupid a few times but I was still able to enjoy it. Now I barely flinch.
