I read a post saying that on peak nights the lines are packed for the halloween thing. What constitutes a peak night?

I also would like to know from people who have gone to this in the past, is it really worth it. I am torn as to whther or not to go to this event as it will make money even tighter.

Also I am getting the Halloween pass in conjunction with a one day Universal ticket. once I get into the halloween thing can I go into BOTH parks? and ride rides from Islands of adventure.

Does anyone know what rides are usually open?
thanks

Yes it's worth it. Friday, Saturday nights are your peak nights. I told know what type of day pass your purchasing sounds like your getting a one park pass for USO. You would only visit that park until it closes. With your HHN ticket you enter IOA and go thru to USO also this year and yes you are allowed to ride any/all open attractions and both parks. Have a great time i can't wait!

Sounds good thank you for the input I am gonna buy my tickets as soon as possible (Sunday the 10th of October)

Does anyone know what rides are likely to be open?

No one really knows what rides will be open.

The only ones we know for sure are Hulk and Mummy.

Probably open:
Most of Seuss, Spiderman, Dr. Doom, Storm force
Twister, Shrek

ver nice, I am so scared of Coasters but am going to go on Mummy.... I may go on Hulk but something that fast and scary at NIGHT eek!

I hope Spiderman is open as I really want to go on it (but am using my one day at univeral in the main park)

I also hope that other rides like Jurassic park river adventure will be open.

This trip is going to be so much fun

The event map shows the entire Jurassic Park area blacked out, which to me implies that not only are none of the rides open, but for the first time, there are no haunted houses in the area.

I would just like to point out that HHN is not the place to be worried about what rides are open IMO. There are more haunted houses than ever before this year, and they will take up your entire night even if you go right from one to the other. Plus there's the Bill & Ted show. I think when you actually get there, rides will be the last thing on your mind.

You are probably right. My train of thought is that I only purchased a one day, one park ticket in addition to the HHN pass. I will be spending the day in niversal Orlando, however at night I wanted to take advantage of the admission to IoA and go on a few of the rides I didn't have the oppourtunity to during the day (Like Spiderman which was my favorite ride there back in 1999)

If you go during a non-peak night, will you be able to see it all, or should we go for two nights?

Let me know how you make out!!!!

I am going on a Sunday the 10th so I think it will be OK considering it is a non-peak night and early in the month. I hope so I want to see everything.

I read that this year there is no difference between a "peak night" and a non-peak night. They are all the same price.

I would imagine, though, that ths would still not have any affect on the lines being longer on weekends.

As far as I know, the only Island that'll definitely be open is Marvel. Suess will be open, but they are not allowed to theme it to the event and there's a chance the rides there won't be open. It's basically wasted space during HHN. At most, the only thing open in LC would be Posiedon. Most of the event will be in the Studios.

My guess would be:

Spider-Man
Hulk
Dr. Doom
Cat in the Hat (???)
Posiedon's Fury (???)
Jimmy Nuetron
Shrek
Mummy
Earthquake (???)

Out of those, the only ones I'd personally take time out from the haunted houses for is Spider-Man and Mummy. If anyone here has the ability to go more than 1 night, I'd recommend doing so this year. Frequent Fear Passes are a good value and you won't have to worry about getting all 7 houses and the show done in 1 night. You can get them done along with rides at your own pace. Or, if you have a normal ticket for the daytime hours, you can do the Stay and Scream and hopefully get a few of the houses done early.

"if you have a normal ticket for the daytime hours, you can do the Stay and Scream and hopefully get a few of the houses done early."

Are you saying that the Haunted houses will be open during the day? and I can hit some of the Haunted houses while I am there in the morning.

I might, but would prefer going at night to get full effect..

But is this what you are saying???

Stay and Scream works like this:

At park closing time, those w/o HHN tickets leave. Those with HHN tickets can move to a preselected area (usually the Enchanted Oak Tavern). In there, you wait, have something to eat, and wait some more. Usually between 6-630p is when those doing Stay & Scream will be allowed out to the park. This head start is great because you can get several houses done before 8p.

Is there a way to beat wll the lines? I read you can't use the hotel room key as an express pass. Is buying the express pass at the park worth the money? If so can you use it on everything and more than once? Thanks!

Kimberly

i've been doing my own research on this and it works like so. buying an express pass Plus for a HHN will allow you to enter the express line for each attraction ONCE automatically for that night.

so it basically means you can hop in the express line for each attraction(including haunted houses i guess) once that night without having to use the express pass ticket machines.

**EDIT** heres the blurb on the HHN express pass plus posted from the universal site

There are no express pass ticket machines open during HHN. The only way to get to the front of the line is with the purchased express pass plus or a VIP tour.

You can only use the express pass plus once for each attraction and house.

in which case its doubaly worth it :) im purchasing mine tonight as soon as i get home.

Is it true that if you stay in one of thier hotels that the key will not work as an express at HHN like it will during the day?
