Halloween Decorations

Does Halloween go from September to October? Does it start at a certain date in September? We are planning on going Sept 10 and the main/only reason is for Halloween.

Would love if anyone could confirm.

Disney typically doesn't announce Halloween until late July or early August. The last 2 years it started on Sept 9th, but in previous years it started as late as the 13th or 14th. While there will be some decorations up the days prior to it officially starting, HMH won't open until the official start and the Halloween parties don't typically start until the last week of Sept.

I'm going September 13 - 16 and am crossing my fingers that Halloweentime will have started by then. We are going for our anniversary and I've always wanted to see the Halloween decorations.

Hopefully it's started by that point. You don't want to miss the Haunted Mansion done up like Nightmare Before Christmas. If you get there right before they launch Mickey's Halloween Party, the Haunted Mansion will most likely be closed for the renovation. The other thing to keep in mind is that the park closes early on days when they're having Mickey's Halloween Party (by early, I mean like 6:00pm though California adventure typically remains open until 8:00). You have to buy a separate pass for Mickey's Halloween Party if you want to remain in Disneyland past the 6:00pm point for the real Halloween-oriented Disney experience.
