Ok, we will get to the world the 29th which is the Sunday before Halloween. We will be there through the 4th and we're trying to figure out which days, which parks for ADR's. This is all the planning we do for the entire trip so the rest is by the seat of our pants.

1) How crowded is MK the day of Halloween?
2) Are the crowds for MNSSHP(31st) made up of locals and vacationers or mainly locals?
3) One of the CM's said there is stuff going on at MGM on Halloween day, is that just for the 31st or is there stuff going on in the few days ahead?

Any help would be great, any suggestions?
Should we fork out the extra $$$$ for the park hopper and hop around if need be? We never do the ph because it's too much time wasted and we find that we can spend atleast a full day at each park.

Part II of my post

If we go to MGM during the day of Halloween, how do we get to MK from there, do we have to take the bus to POP and then the bus to the MK?
Is there a mad dash of people trying to get into the MK for MNSSHP at around 7:00?

We were there for Halloween last year. It really wasn't that bad. We made a reservation for the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner between normal hours and the Halloween party. The biggest pain for us was the line for the Trading Pin.

It was not that crowded IMO, most rides were pretty short waits.

I would recommend going to the park well before 7:00PM, even if you don't have a park hopper you can get in after 4PM. By 7:00 the line was getting pretty long.

If you want to get to MK from MGM I would recommend getting on one of the busses for the MK resorts. Head over to Grand Floridian, Poly or Contemporary and take the monorail from there. That would be quicker than heading back to POP.

Out of curiosity, why would this make a a difference?

Not sure why OP was asking, but maybe locals head out a little earlier, having to get up for school/work ect on Wednesday? Vacationers (that's me! ) don't! pirate:

The locals wouldn't be there all day, they would only be there after school if they're school aged children.
I am trying to determine what the crowds will be like at MK BEFORE MNSSHP.

Thanks!

This is a good thread.... We were considering going next year for Halloween and attending the MNSSHP on the night of Halloween.... I was always curious if that night would be busy too!!!! Or for that matter which park to go to as well on Halloween day......

You will have to post about MGM, that would be great if they do something during the day!!!!

I'm tryinhg to decide if I should spend the day at MK on Halloween or go to the party.

The easiest way from MGM to MK is the direct Disney bus- just like getting on a resort bus but they take you from one park to another.

Even though it is sold out, the nice thing is that there is a cap on the number of tickets sold.

That being said, the longest line that we waited for ON HALLOWEEN was for the pin. Other than that it didn't feel that much busier than when we went mid-October two years earlier. It really dies down after the fireworks.

My suggestion would be to go there early mid-afternoon and just stay until the party starts. Our plans this year are to hang out at the pool or go to Epcot, then go to DTD for BBB and then head to the park.

We've been to the halloween party a couple of times! I never thought the crowds were too bad. We always had a great time! When you are at MGM you could also take the boat to the Boardwalk, they usually have trick or treating and arts and crafts for the kids!! It's really cute. We usually do that prior to heading to the MK. You can catch the bus to MK from the boardwalk!
