Halloween Cruisers 2002 Where are you?

DENA: I think they have some access to the scripts. We are at a DISTINCT DISADVANTAGE here.

Jan :earsgirl:

Jan! You just gave my secret away!
Today's quote is
"Many things the should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became Myth.

Dena-We are in cabins 7619 and 7621

:D Good morning :)
Thought our Thread needed a bump up the list.
We got a dusting of snow last night. Not enough to be a big problem. I have to drive to the office to do some chart reviews today. Temperatures in the 20's however. That is yucky. I liked the 53 degrees of two days ago better.

have a nice day,
Jan :earsgirl:

Jan: I think you might be right. :D Seriously, I used to be able to remeber movies word for word. Now I can barely remember who is in a movie:cool: The sad thing is, when I read the quotes, I know who said them and when they were said in the movie. I just can't remeber them for myself! Oh well.

The weather here finally warmed up today. We were in the high 50's durning the day and in the 30's at night this whole week BRRR!!!! I dont like the cold.

On Wednesday we went to see Catch me If You Can with Leo DiCaprio. What an amazing story that is. If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it. Of course it is NO LOTR and there is no Aragorn in it, but it is very entertaining non the less.:p

Dena:earsgirl:

Today's quote is "For soon the time will come when hobbits shape the fortunes of all."

Gangs of New York just came out over here, I dont think Catch me if you Can is out yet. Not really a big Leo fan (of course I was when he was in Titanic, who wasn't!) and GONY is an 18 anyway so Im not sure if Ill see either. I think Ill stick with LOTR. Im off to see it again tomorrow with 5 of my friends.

I am lucky if I can remember lines from movies. When Emma and Rory started leaving quotes I had to ask where some were from. Since I never saw Harry Potter, I am at a distinct disadvantage there.

I do remember a line from LILO and STITCH "It's OK, my puppy found the chain saw."

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN sounds kind of like a movie starring Tony Curtis filmed in the 1961 called the GREAT IMPOSTOR based on the life of a real person.

I never saw TITANIC either. DS#2 saw it at a drive-in with a van full of friends. Every so often he would say
"Can we leave now? We know how it ends. The ship sinks."
The kids would yell "TED!!! cut it out!!"
He said it was really funny.

Have a good day,
Jan :earsgirl:

Sorry I haven't been able to get on in a while! I saw Catch Me if You Can yesterday. It was really great. I loved it!

Jan, I love the quote from Lilo and Stitch. Actually, I haven't been using the script, I just memorize the movie. It's harder to memorize the second one because I have only seen it four times.

Today's quote is form Catch Me if You Can: "Frank do you need money? Here, here's five dollars, go ahead and buy a couple records."

I know it isn't that funny and the movie did take place in the sixties, but still I thought that it was funny that back then five dollars could get you a COUPLE of records. That's like on third of teh cost today for CDs.

My quote of today is
"Sauron himself forged the one Ring. The molten gold was mixed with his own blood."

I dont think Catch me If you can is even out over here but seeing as you guys think it's good then I may just have to go when it is.

My memory isn't that good, I remember bits that I really like and then I remember them when I hear them and I can tell you who said it and when but I couldnt memorize an entire film from seeing it 5 times.

New York lost the play off game! Oh yeah, quote for today!

Uh, I think I'll do Moulin Rouge:

"Luckily at that exact moment an unconscious Argentinean fell through my roof. He was soon followed by a dwarf, dressed as a nun."

RORY--What movie is the quote from about the dwarf dressed as a nun?

New York lost. What sport? Do you root for that team?

Have a good week all,
Jan :earsgirl:

Yesterday's quote was
"Hobbits really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about their ways in a month and yet after 100 years they can stil surprise you."

Today's is
"A wizard is never late Frodo Baggins, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to."

Getting theological here:

Emma's quote of the day
"A wizard is never late Frodo Baggins, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to."
makes me think of God. His timing is always perfect. Mine is not.

How is everyone? It is cold here and I wish I was in the Caribbean. I am using my cruiseline mug for my ice water today. I am a big water drinker.

Is there any action on the Halloween Cruiser 2003 thread? I have not gotten a reminder about it and now that we cannot go to a listing of our saved threads, I cannot find it. Emma, Dena, do you have the address for it?
Thanks,

Jan :earsgirl:

I dont think there is one actually. I was thinking of setting one up though. Have you heard from Rae recently?

Quote for today:

Draco: Why are you wearing glasses?

Harry, dressed as Goyle: Oh, um, reading.

Draco: I didn't know you could read.

JAN - The New York Jets lost the play off football game against the Oakland Raiders. My dad roots for the team more than I do and I have very little interest in football. I do root for *almost* all New York teams, my favorite being the New York Yankees. Baseball is the only sport I can sit down and watch for two hours. I don't like the Mets at all. Long story really...

The quote about the nun and Argentinean is from Moulin Rouge with Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor *sigh*.

EMMA - How are you coming along with your fanfiction?

EMMA: The Halloween Cruiser 2003 Thread I was referring to is the one where the lady said she got tickets for Christmas. I cannot find it.
I think setting up a thread like Ginger did last year is a good idea. If you do it, let me know. I will at least lurk and maybe post.
I got an E-mail from Rae today but did not open it yet.
What is the "fanfiction" Rory is referring to.

RORY: I did not see Moulin Rouge, so that is why I did not "get" the quote.

Have a good day,
Jan :earsgirl:

Hey everyone. I've got a quote:

"We've had one yes, but what about second breakfast?" "I Dont think he know about second breakfast Pip." "What about elevensies? Lunch? Afternoon tea? Supper? Dinner? He knows about them doesnt he?":D

We went to see gangs of NY on Friday. It was much better than I expected it to be. Of course, as someone who used to live in NY, I could see that NY was just as bad back then as it is now.

I am finally getting excited about my cruise, just a little over a week now.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc We have off of school on Friday and Monday, so I will probably pack on Monday.

Well, I must go put my children to bed now.

Dena:earsgirl:

BTW: My oldest son helped my with the quote:p

DENA - I'm glad you liked Gangs of New York. I've been wanting to see it, but I'm not allowed to see it : ). I love that quote you did. It's really really good. Man I'm tired. Tomorrow we are going on a Field Trip to a school and I get to skip cus I really don't like that school soo... SLEEP IN! Okay...

JAN - I'm sorry you haven't seen Moulin Rouge. It's really sad and really good. The fanfiction is on fanfiction.net.

Rory-I've hit a small problem with my fanfiction. Nope, not writers block like most ppl but I cant figure out how to log in!

Dena-That was my quote for a monday in a couple of weeks! Nevermind, Im sure you'll all have forgotten by then!

Jan-I didn't "get" the quote and I saw the film! Mind you, I didn't really "get" the film!

EMMA - Go to fanfiction.net and on the top you'll find the Log In button. Click that and then type in your email address and password. That should log you in.

I didn't get the movie until the fifth time I saw it. Oh yeah, quote for today...

From the 4th book:

"Her-my-oh-nee"
"Herm-own-ninny"
"close enough"

But it isnt there on my computer anymore!

Today's quote
"Nothing important. That is I heard a good deal about a ring, and a dark lord and something about the end of the world!"
