Last official day of Summer vacation today.....the kids start back tomorrow. Anyone else's kids already back to school?

We start monday. Timmy is going into middle school. Tonight we get to go and tour the school and make sure he can find his homeroom. My baby is offically growing up! :sad2:

Our kids have been back in school for 3 weeks. I figure it will help make up for all the time they will miss when we go on vacation as our new home does not have the school year begin until next week!

Wow, I thought we went back early. Seems so wierd to me to have the kids go back before Labor day. In my eyes it is still summer up until Labor day.

We started back on the 14th. We are officially into week 2 & I received the principal's "Have fun" and complete support for the trip, so one less thing to worry about!!

We went to the urologist yesterday with Cody to follow-up on his surgery. Cody had an ultrasound & for the first tiem in his life, the doc told us that his kidneys are deflating and losing their swelling! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :yay: :bounce: So, as of right now, the surgery was a success and we don't have to go back for Cody for a year. What a relief. Using the catheters is a bit of a pain, bit not at all as difficult as I envisioned.

Choc & AWOL- That is great news (about Cody)!!!! So glad to hear he is doing well.

Heather- What grade does your Middle School start? 6th or 7th? Ours starts in 7th, so Drew won't go to middle school until next year (thank goodness!)

Speaking of cry babies, Everytime I hear the horn play "When you wish upon a star" I tear up. You would think that after 7 Disney cruises I would be fine.

In MD middle school is 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Tim took him to orientation tonight. It is a whole new world for him. He was having a hard time getting his locker open. He got one that sticks.

Teri
Terri,

Thinking we willneed extra tissues for our bunch here.......

Heather,
That hoots that Timmy got a bum locker. I can remember dealing with those issues in High School. Is he nervous? I must say, I'm grateful to have one more year of elementary for Drew. He is very small for his age, and I just can't imagine him in the same school as all of those (much) bigger kids!

Teri,
I'm sure I'll be tearing up when that horn blows too. The part that is really going to get me though, is when we board and they announce our family name. I'm glad I've been warned about this....I'll make sure I have sunglasses on!

That is awsome news!!

I think I am more nervous than he is! Timmy is also on the small size. He only weighs 72 pounds. He is actually younger than most kids in his class. He turns 11 on Sept. 22, most of the kids in his class turned 11 last school year. I think he will do pretty well though. I really wish he had another year in Elem. school, but I guess he will have to go sooner or later. I just wish it was later!

Timmy has 4 lbs. on Drew, and Drew turned 11 end of July. He too is one of the younger kids in the class.

They do just that....they announce your family name as you board. I haven't cruised yet, so I'm not exactly sure what they say, but I've read about it in trip reports.
