Well I was going to complain and say I thought I should get an additonal 3/4 point for complementing the score keeper about his idea of a water slide, but after Awol's last post, I don't know if I can make up that many points. I am still trying to add up his score, but it is hard for me count past ten with my shoes on.

I think Jaypd got scared off after he went golfing with me and there was that whole incident with the golf ball and the condo.

I am glad to see the votes for the window seats coming in, that leaves more aisle seats for me. I am used to the beatings about the head and neck, so I can deal with that.:cool1:

As for your question
"When you travel, do you plan and reserve for yourself or do have a TA do it for you?"

I have my TA, oops I mean LaRue  do it for me. But she does tell me that my opinion counts. Actually she just tells me where her bags are and where I need to bring them.:rotfl2:

We had a woman ventriloquist (Lynne something) and she was one of the FUNNIEST acts I've ever seen. We still quote lines from her.
That would be fun to see her. It will be interesting to see who is performing on our trip.

Anyone thinking about skipping any of the shows this time around?

Actually she just tells me where her bags are and where I need to bring them.

That's true...and on this trip a little less grumbling about the weight of them. :wave2: :laundy:

This must be intergrated into all future marriage vows... that is, to insert ..... "To have and to hold AND carry <insert her first name> s' luggage, Bloomingdales' and Macy's (or substitute Nieman Marcus and Sacks' 5th Avenue ~ or any suitable pair depending on your shopping preferences)... shopping bags, regardless of number or weight"... til death do you part?".... And from your emotion (and my spouses' tone of likely agreement) ... also insert right after ..."will you take this man" immediately substitue "will you take this mans' laundry and scrub and wash, pick up and fold... til death do you part?

And for the current point scores - I believe AWOL has another 3 points for answers + a point for a dry travel question, and reluctantly.... I am awarding another FULL honorary point :woohoo:, in part to restore some the dignity among biology students everywhere who mix phallic symbols into their exams and quizes .... and a portion of the honorary point comes from confirming my incertitude that the female V was in drag ... and as for Goofy? That's another issue entirely... do you have any photos to support the allegation? And I might add - another fraction of the honorary point comes from simply exhibiting the chutzpah in challenging ME in over my petty gestures over the dominance of vertical thread acreage here!!!! Well... actually I believe Kritter actually has an incontestable position of dominace over TOTAL vertical acerage - so let me modify my petty claim to one over simply LONG WINDED postings... and yes, AWOL does bring a challenge to my frivolous claim! Soooo.... reluctantly, this brings AWOL up to TEN point five points!!!

And ... GOOFY adds another 2 points for good natured replies admitting spousal tormentling though physical enslavement with the luggage. Yeah... that's 7 points in total there!

:happytv: OK - gotta run to do my "share" of clean up chores this morning - then it's a girls BD party and the Dodger/Philly game with FREE T-shirts for all! Speaking of which - I'll be posting images of the custom T-shirts we had made from Disney.com for our groups' consideration. We get authorized use of Disney characters by going this route - otherwise I am still open to drawing up something totally custom. Yeah - I know - I've been TALKLING about drawing by hand a design or two for us - but have NOT posted any yet. Give me more vertical space and I'll toss in several lengthy and somewhat imaginative excuse!s!!! So - don't get me started! :goodvibes

And No... the shows tend to be well received by my family - so we'll be attending every major production on the cruise - some possibly TWICE! Who needs another lobster tail, eh?

At any rate, we might in fact MISS the V show though - depending on the timing and so on. Funny... out of the 1000s of Disney cruise pictures I've accumulated - I don't have a single photo of a V show? :confused3

I am left in the aisle with two kids next to me and Dh in the next row all alone able to sleep....the enitire flight...

As for your question
"When you travel, do you plan and reserve for yourself or do have a TA do it for you?"

I reserve the entire trip myself then when things go "wrong," I have no one to blame but myself..

ANd for the question of do you plan to skip any of the shows...The answer is a probally since the kids will most likely not want to sit through all of the shows...The answer is we will for sure catch a few...But DH and I are do not care to see one everyday....

OK another question what is the one thing you must do while in WDW Or on The DCL??

For us Dh would never go to WDW and not go on rockin rollercoaster or tower of terror...No trip would be complete with out that...And for all of you what would it be???????

Hello everyone.....have not posted in awhile but we were getting ready for our cruise. Just got back a few hours ago, We had perfect weather and perfect seas. Servers were excellent and the room steward was the best we have ever had. There have been some menu changes that were very good. There is a new Chef in Palo also, he has only been on the ship a few weeks. Ali, Brent and Jez at the Promanode lounge became my best friends as they competed to see who could make the best Mojito's and I was more than willing to try all of there creations. Ali had just made up a new frozen drink called the Southern Devil that Fran really liked. All in all we had a fantastic time and cannot wait for October :cool1:

OH Dave and FRan WElcome HOME!!!!!!

Tell us more about the trip.....Was everything just as good as you remembered it????

How did the kids enjoy it??

DID you rebook on board for another cruise????

Thanks Kristen.....The ship was better than ever. The new Dumbotron is fantastic. It was a little sad to see cozumel. Though they have come a long way the dock area has a lot of work to be done, it was very obvious that they had tremendous damage. we did a dune buggy tur in Costa Maya which was fun. Having 2 days at CC was the best. We did Parasailing the 1st day at CC. The kids had a blast. Steven (14) hung out at the stack with a group of about 6 or 7 kids and Kelly had her best friend for the week before we even got into the terminal. They met in the parking lot and were joined at the hip the entire week. The only rules that we had for the kids were that they were not allowed to be alone at anytime and that they get to dinner on time. Kelly also had to be in at midnight.

Dave

Kristen.....I have not read previous post yet so how are you feeling?

Welcome back, I am glad to hear you guys had a great time, with perfect seas. So you are giving a thumbs up to the new menus? :thumbsup2 Can you tell me what a Mojito is? Also, can you share what is in a Southern Devil, the name makes it sound pretty good.

I am going to say on Semi formal night, I must get the chocolate lava cake. I have only had it at one sitting, but I ate multiple pieces. (Captain do you have a picture of that cake that you can post for, me to tide me over until October?)

Okay for my question, what is everyone planning on bringing to combat sea sickness (hopefully nothing will be needed)?

GDAC......Mojito is simple syrup (water and suger), mint leaves, fresh limes, rum, club soda and crushed ice. You have to know how to prepare them though. You have to use a lot of mint and crush the mint leaves with the simple syrup to bring out the mint taste. It is a lot like a grown up lemonaide. I got one the first night in Rockin Bar D and it was really bad. The guys in Promanade also made me a rasberry and an apple version that was really good. The Southern Devil is Ali's creation and it has Southern comfort, vodka, juice from 3 lime wedges, simple syrup. 3 fresh peach halves, orange juice and 5 fresh raspberries, a splash of Jack Daniels and ice...blend until smooth, then he poured it into a glass that he swirled with raspberry puree. Ali is the only bartender on the ship that can make this one.

Definite thumbs up to the new menu's, I tried a lot of the new stuff and it was really good. A couple things that I remember that are gone is the sweet onion soup, the caulifluer soup and the Fried Camburt (SP)cheese that was in Lumires although our head server surprised us the 2nd time in Lumires with some of the cheese.

Welcome Back XLT and TchrMom! Sounds like you had a great trip. The drinks sound great can't wait for GDAC to make me up a batch. So, inquirying minds want to know what good things have they added to the menus and anything interesting at Palo???

There was talk that something big was going to be added to CC. Any ideas what that is and when it will be done???

I haven't gone back and read all the posts, but did they end up sewing your lung to your rib cage, or was the surgery something else? Sorry to hear about having another chest tube, still to this day, I have never felt anything more painful than that. Here is some PD pixiedust: hoping you are feeling better before the 4-6 week timeframe.

I think the last question I asked was about what people are going to do to combat sea sickness, and I haven't seen a reply to it yet, but I am lazy and haven't looked real hard.

Thanks for the drink information, our AC just broke down and they aren't coming out until Thursday to take a look at it, so we might have to try these out in order to keep cool.

Here is another question for you, if a good Mojito tastes like an adult lemonade, what do the bad ones taste like?

So, inquirying minds want to know what good things have they added to the menus and anything interesting at Palo???

There was talk that something big was going to be added to CC. Any ideas what that is and when it will be done???

Everynight there were new things on the menu so I do not remember many but they had an incredible mushroom appetizer and a Chicken wellington stuffed with mushrooms also artichoke, jalapeno cheese dip appetizer that was real good.

Can you tell me more about parasailing????

We felt very safe doing this with Disney. After getting you in a harness you sit on the boat and they let the sail go. You go 1000 feet into the air for about 5-7 minutes then they reel you in and you land on the boat....very easy. It cost $75.00 per person.

Here is another question for you, if a good Mojito tastes like an adult lemonade, what do the bad ones taste like?

A bad one taste like pure grain alcohol......a couple things cause a bad mojito....not enough of the simple syrup and not enough mint. The mint leaves must be crushed into the syrup until you can really smell them. You will use about 10 leaves of the mint.

I imagine that we will end up skipping a show or two since we just saw them in November and they always seemed to make the evenings seem so rushed! We'll have to see what each day brings though!

I hope DL qualifies too since we are west coasters!! We can't do any day at DL without POTC. We even do Pirates multiple times a day sometimes.

What not to miss on DCL?? LOVED the Chocolate Lava Cake!!! The D Sea U graduation program was so much fun too!!

We were thinking about doing 2 together & 2 right behind those two. That way both kids get window seats and I don't have to start my vacation referring 2 kids :)

So what do you think the record for Lava Cake deliveries to one table is?? With you & I at the same table, we could challenge that record!! I liked the Lava Cake more than the chocolate souffle at Palo!

You've gotta watch the Mythbusters episode on motionsickness. The only non-prescription solution they found that worked was the ginger tablets. After spending 2 days of the last cruise in bed sick, sick, sick, I am making sure I have my ginger. The patches make me loopy, so I won't be using that again!

Ooh! I bet that 80 degree weather is just killing you!! It was only 111 here today. Of course the forecasters are issuing a heat advisory & telling everyone to stay inside between teh hours of 11am & 6pm. Hmmm.... Wonder how we will start a pool party tomorrow at 11am inside???

That appetizer sounds delicious!! Can't wait to try that one!

I'll toss out another question just to give another option for gathering points.....

How did you decide on your DIS screen names???
Mine is fairly obvious! I love chocolate & when it comes to alcohol, I pretty much only drink margaritas. Delish!

I'll probably be scarce again for a couple of weeks. Tomorrow is Cody's 5th Bday party. His actual Bday is next Sat, but he'll be in the hospital then, so we decided to have his party before then. He is having surgery on Tuesday that will last the better part of the day & he'll be in the hospital for 7-10 days. He'll be pretty dependant on us for about 3 weeks and it should take about 4 weeks for the recovery. So, until we know how the surgery/recovery goes, I'll be otherwise occupied for a bit!

Keep the thread moving while we're out. I promise to try & read to keep up & I'll post an update as soon as I can.

My screen name came from a nickname my Dad and my Uncles gave me when I was really young. I used to take ballet and so they began calling me to-to LaRue.

pixiedust: pixiedust: Double pixie dust for Cody!

I decided on my screen name because I am tall, have a big nose, floppy ears, big shoes and just like goofy, I can drive a car. Plus all the good princess names were already taken :rotfl2:
