Glad to hear your church community is well organized with generous souls.
Not trying to make this a spiritual thing... as I try to be a sort of "private sort" in these matters - and ocassionally I am not ... but it is nice to have a well networked support organization in your life (that's the non-denominational remark complementing the friendly neighbors who have helped your family!)
I kno... (and with that, in the eternal words of Gilda Radner - remember her?) .... so "never mind".
At any rate, yeah - the weekend was quite enjoiable. We did Legoland - and the Zoo, spent a day just swimming and lounging while we just talked and watched the kids running around the hotel, jumping on the beds and wandering round the water front. Typical stuff I would say. The zoo was under rated as it was a truly great experience... and to some extent Lego Land was over rated - as out toddlers were barred from many seemingly very low intensity rides. We were disappointed. Disney has far wilder rides with NO restriction on our toddlers! The Zoo was simply wonderful.
Aside from that - the nice news I must confess was my brother in law was confiding he had heightened interest (comprehensive) in coming to California to relocate. No guarantees he was going to move anytime this decade or the next...
He had been off and on with a hugely complex web or reasons for this or that - but at the end of the day if family we love is seriously considering a relocation that makes it easier to see them - then we are quite happy about that - no question.
So... I spent a little more then I intended on this and that. Example... I imagine it's inevitable as one parent "caves in" to their childs' desires for a pricey multi-piece costume - then the other kids sort of have to get something similar. I caved in too after someone else (who shall remain un-named ... there were an Auntie from Hawaii and the Uncle and Auntie from Boston there with their kids) caved in to their child. Yeah - it cost me an extra $50 bucks plus that I usually resist as we try not to spoil our kids. Earning a buck is not an easy thing and our kids should learn that money does not grow on trees readily - although to them it must look that way! In our neighbborhood we have sort of well to do sorts - I saw Bob Barker at the FedEX just a couple of days ago sending a FedEX packet to a local TV channel. He sort of looks like you'd expect - only very casual. SO we talk sometimes about how some "other kids" really get spoiled rotten in the neighborhood - and we feel it is NOT a good thing. We try to resist the temtations.
That's why we stick with a window cabin on DCL... LOL! .... well ... actually I'm always fishing for the free upgrade (already got one on DCL from 9 to 6!)... and that may weigh more heavily on the games I engage in!
Aside from that - I will add in final comment that for any who might ever visit San Diego... remember .... your AAA card will get you a whopping 20% off the deluxe admission at the SD Zoo
- it cost a lot less than LegoLand and trumped it handily in our opinions!
Costco advance purchase of deluxe zoo passes would have saved us under $1 but we made our decision to go after we arrived in SD.... and naturally all the local Costcos did not see the discounted admissions to the Zoo or Legoland. Yeah - I called and swung by as I was printing weekend photos to give away and we bought a pizza for snacking while there.
OK - gotta go now....
Take it easy Kristen.... time and doing the right thing will bring you a decent recovery in the fastest manner! I'm no expert so that's my standard "optimists' line"... but I do mean it too!
TTFN!
