Today was one those days. Nothing going right, people all around me fighting, unrealistic deadlines, ringing phones, double booked meetings...you all get the picture.

I finally get home and what was sitting in my mailbox but a rather large envelope from my TA. It was my confirmation for the extra room that I booked last week. They also tossed a DCL Vacation Guide, the Ship/Shore Guide for the Eastern Cruise, some pamphlets for the Space Coast & KSC and another copy of the DCL DVD. The bright spot in an otherwise lousy day. Ahhhhhhhh, all is right in the world. :) :) :) :)

Well, with all this talk of where to stay the night before, I had to go book our rooms, too. We're bucking the trend and not staying at the Radisson, I'd heard too many things about it showing its age, so we thought we'd try something different. So we'll be staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott at Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral. So we'll give it a go!

OH, and before I forget, Kristin, please add the following folks to the roster for the trip: my SIL Nancy, BIL Douglas and their DD16 Susie. We bought the trip for them and will tell them this summer about it. It will be such a fun surprise to share with them!! They will arrive the same time as us.

Thanks!!!

Sherry

That is where we are booked too Sherry. I love "new" when looking for a hotel! We will definately be a group there already because we are a travelling family of 11! You guys are kinda big too, so that should constitute a pre-cruise cocktail party!

Have a great night everyone...........

Missy

Missy, we'll be sure to hook up by the pool! With my son, there is no place more important!! :)

Kristin, we've pm'd about this, but you've got lots on your brain. I'm in sunny Clinton on the shoreline. :)

I had to go back to the first page to check how old your son was. My middle son is the same age! Does he email or IM? My son has been bugging me to find him a "cruise friend".

Sjcubedofct and Missy,
Not to intrude, but my son Timmy is also the same age. Maybe the three of them can e-mail each other. He keeps asking me if I know anything about the other kids that we will be cruising with. If either of your sons are interested, or any other kids around 10 -12 that is sailing with us is interested, they can e-mail Timmy ( he prefers to be called Tim by his friends :rolleyes2 ) at Stolteheather@yahoo.com He loves being in the lab. He is really into sports and video games. I thinks it is always nce for them to go into the lab already knowing someone.

Well, there is going to be quite the 11 year old boys club, because I know that Bucki has an 11 year old boy, too! :) My son doesn't generally email much, but your boys are welcome to email him at our family email address: joshua2415sj3(at)yahoo.com.

CAVEAT: My son Steven doesn't know about the cruise yet! We'll likely tell him over Easter vacation, so you may want to hold off on the emails until then. :) And I don't believe Bucki's kids know yet, either....

Good Morning!

Well, it's my last day of spring break............... :guilty:

Not really ready to go back to the daily grind. I'll just keep reminding myself that I have a cruise in 63 days!
(XLY............do not read this)
Maybe I should go shopping this afternoon, and buy something for the cruise to make me feel better.

Well....

... I lost track but... are there any 5-6 year old girls in our group? I know we have a penny cluster of 11 YO boys.

So... friday's here and I gotta go git breakfast ready. :stir:

We have a 7 year old girl & a 5 year old boy. Not exactly what you were looking for, but the 5-7 year olds will be in the same club group together.

Well, I just had a fairly relaxing week. Up late most nights working, but the days were pretty nice. We live right on the border of 2 school districts, so DS goes to a Montessori preschool that follows on district's calendar and DD goes to the public school in the district we live in. Well, of course the 2 districts don't have spring break the same week, so DS had his break this week & DD has hers next week. My parents live in FLagstaff (about 2 hours from us), so on Tuesday, I met them halfway & they took Cody for the rest of the week (they are on their way down right now) and Samantha will do the same next week. Since she doesn't get home from school until 3:30, I have had very quiet days with him gone. Next week won't be as quiet since Cody comes home earlier, but it sure has been nice to not have to listen to 2 kids bickering & trying to talk over each other.

That wonderful!

Now I know we will have about 500-800 kids on board and dozens in her age range (boys and girls) but I wuz curious about who would be from our DIS group - and at the meet and private functions we'll run.

And I sort of made a small mistake in specifying 5-7 year old girls since it really does not matter - as Julianna gets along just fine with boys and girls of varying ages... but she proably gets along a little better with kids at 3~7 or 8.

And on another note, we were thinking of possibly going on this Med sailing in 2007. Not so much because "I" want to do it... but my BIL just called last nite about it. It seems we were goijng to do a trip that included a visit to Vatican city plus other points in the region... etc... except it all got messed up with some folks being slow to committ and the prices jumping on us while we waited for committments from some family members. Then with the new higher prices many withdrew and my dozen of HOURS invested were wasted. SO... I am NOT very enthusiastic about planning this... again.

At any rate, anyone here considering this? I have done some prelimenary investigation and I've found the price difference between comparable cruise lines is big enough that IF we went non-Disney we would save enough to sail DIsney in the Carib for FREE (with our savings in shoulder season for a 7 nite voyage). SO... I am mixed in feelings... as I figure we could get everyone to go for the cheaper non-Disney voyage but then again ???? Oh well... anyone here considering this? I am sort of half considering it now that I'm thinking about it again. I need convincing or I sould also use some discouragement and encouragement to go NON-DCL.

Heck... what I really need is for someone else to negotiate with my family members about the ship, date, and land plans.... among other things. One of our family always insists on going high luxe (as if that makes anyone superior, eh?) and also non-entertainment oriented for the kids.... while several of us go for value and yet another leans towards port intensive demands. SO... no one is agreed on a single common aspect for common benefit except we want to be together.... if on THEIR terms. YUCK! But when folks are spending a certain amount then they get a little pickey I guess. I know I have my limits and preferences.

Oh well... so much for my venting here... thanks for listening and chuckling over my acrobatic headaches here. :confused3

Hi everyone. I just heard from Kristin in Dallas she's buying up lots of shoes. A girl after my own heart. Love shoes. When we were in Key West we went to Kinos sandle factory. Fun!

I am pretty disturbed by the fire. The pictures are truly horrifying. That obviously is the worst nightmare for cruisers. A 3am fire. I am so thankful more people weren't seriously harmed. I was worried my mother was going to back out of this cruise but she's remaining brave!

I'm pretty sure I have pneumonia. The pain in my chest is crushing and I feel like I'm going to pass out ( and sweat to death) when I do anything. I was supposed to go right to the hospital but then a friends mother died and I just can't move. My weight right now is dangerously low and I think my immune system is just kicked. Say a little prayer for a speedy recovery. I'd appreciate it. Olivia has her final competition tomorrow, it's always a long day and she needs me there!

Jen, are you on any meds? Rob had pneumonia in December and lept thinking he had a bad cold, and would get better. After a couple of weeks of feeling like junk, he finally went to the Dr. and got put on meds. He felt better after just a couple of days. Hang in there....get lots of rest!

Jen- I hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself and get lots of rest.

Guess nobodys around today...

... I'm watchin' Sky Captain on cable with my daughter now while lurkin and wandering the internet ether.... it's started to drizzle here in the LA area.

Cheers! :thumbsup2

Princessh,Deanna,Teri and Capt.........thank you for the well wishes. I'm feeling a tad better today. I had to get up to get Olivia to competition. This is ADDA, a national competition that qualified us for the finals in NYC. We won high silver. They did great. We're all tired and my chest is hurting far too much to be comfortable so I think bed is the only option for us right now. I hope I'm feeling better tomorrow. I noticed Kristin called a couple of times while we were gone. I hope she's having fun. I really miss her!

Crash, I'll be at the MGM the 14th-16th. Have you pin pointed the dates for your trip to Vegas yet?
