Missy, you are cracking me up!

I'm up early checking the weather, and you didn't get your snow day. Drew was praying BIG TIME for a snow day. He tried to recruit Kylie to pray with him, and she said "No Drew, I like school. It's fun for me!" She still in Kindergarten, though.

Second best (maybe better)........I have a water main break at my school today!!! No work for me today. The kids go to school and I stay home...WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO. The next best thing will be if my class (I am going to school to get my masters) gets cancelled tonight as the snow rolls in. :teacher:

Anyone else stuck in this storm making its way across our country?

We are staying at the new Residence Inn the night before the cruise. If we end up flying in really early we might switch to the Ron Jon. If we end up flying in really late we might switch to the Hyatt. Last year we stayed at the Hyatt at the airport through Hotwire for $65 and that was great too. We tried to stay at the Raddison once, but as we pulled in the parking lot they were erecting a sign that said "closed due to evacuation"......bad memories! I thought the "cruise deal" package there was not really a deal because they offer free parking to anyone who wants to leave their car there?

Have a great day ( I know I will)

Missy

Teri,
Thanks for the info. I will be checking out the Travelocity site and most likely booking with them! I am so glad we will be able to stay at the Raddison. We just loved it there.

No snow here yet. They are forcasting an inch or two later today. Nothing that should stick on the road.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sorry to hear about the bad weather...................... :sunny:

We're sunny and 78 today. When we lived in Pittsburgh (before XLT was transfered here) the kids hardly ever got a snow day....usually it was just a delayed start, until the snow plows could go through. Too bad you had to get up early, to find out that there WAS NO school!!!!!!!

After 2 days off from gym.........we're back at it this afternoon. Good! Staying at home and watching my kids eat is killing me!!!!!

I heard about that water main break. That IS better than a snow day! R&R day for mom! Were your kids jealous?

Hi Everyone. I hadn't thought as far as booking a room for Friday. I know that a few hotels have been mentioned. Where does everyone recommend? I remember someone saying last year that they didn't know the space shuttle was going off and her family was scared out of bed very early that day!!

Missy, I had every cover possible to the "Bermuda" bag. I loved that pocketbook. I think I was in 7th grade. I bought my daughter one from the Gap a couple of years ago (she was only 6). I wish I had kept all the covers and matching headbands to go with it. I also collected Ginny dolls and paper dolls when I was little. Think I know where any of those are? No. I had a Ginny doll from almost every country, and that's when the eyes would open and close. The things I wish I kept (or at least knew where they were)!

Fran, it is so cold in MA (35*) you would never know it's the first full day of Spring. Enjoy the sunshine.

Hi all,
Just got home from a shopping spree!!! Going with DH to Dallas this weekend and needed some clothes for the dinners, events that we are going to at night time..

Just an FYI my mom called the raddison directly and booked a room for thurs, night and friday night before the cruise no problem..So call them direct and seee what you can get...

Kristin

Kristin,
I am glad to see that you are staying at the Radisson too. We will have to have a get together before the cruise. Maybe by the Pool? :cool1:

princessh- Hope you can get a room at the Radisson.

Princess Olivia- My vote is for the Radisson. They have a great pool with a waterfall. We also love saving $84.00 that it would cost us to park for 7 days at the Port. The jacuzzi rooms are great. They have a seperate living room area with table and chairs, fridge, microwave, sink area and more. WE also love the huge jacuzzi tub.

As for parachute pants.........they would have not worked in any of my looks! You know sleezy tight, peg leg pants phase or only buy your clothes at the thrift store phase a.k.a. Pretty in Pink era or the lovely preppie all izod, collar flipped up (while wearing several shirts), and a matching purse COVER (anyone have one of these?) phase. I must not have had time forthe parachute pants.........

The look I am going for now is your basic, I hope I can find a pair of pants that fit over my big butt! Otherwise known as the "choice of undergarmets is very, VERY vital era" :rotfl2:

Maybe we should all meet at Diversions on 80's night!

Missy

Parachute pants! Yeah! And a lot more hair on my head back then!

Ok all you fellow 80's fans, check out this 80's music quiz site. It is totally tubular dudes and dudettes. :rotfl2:
I earned a 97 on the quiz. Just know that spelling counts. I ended up losing points for answers spelled incorrectly.
Have fun!

As a bonus, bonus question... At least one of the questions is NOT from the 80s! And on top of that, the song in question was released (well, the album that the song was on) by 2 different artists within months of each other. Which one was it?

I promise to warn you of any impending space shuttle launches! I'm keeping an eye on the schedule. Our cruise is currently inside the launch window for an upcoming mission - the planned date is earlier in October at the moment. There is also a thread on the main board where somebody is tracking launches.

We really liked the Radisson last year. If we can't get that, we'll be going down the list that Shirley (snelsonbrown) posted. If you have a rental car, it's not a big deal to stay anywhere in the area. If you need transportation, then it's a different ball game ;)

I forgot also until I checked the thread today. I did the same for our May cruise and ended up getting the Sheraton 4 points for $149 because the Radisson was booked. I just got off the Radisson site and they seem to have plenty of rooms right now. Thanks for the reminder everyone!!

Boy, do I feel stupid! I was talking to my step mom about the Raddison and realized that I was attempting to book a room at the Raddison for Oct. 28, not the 27th! :rolleyes1 I am glad I realized it. Sure enough they have plenty of rooms open for the 27th! Thanks for everyone's help.

Hello everyone...

Looks like someth9ing is goin' on with reservations for october ... now? Wow... that's pretty advanced planning! I'mn just getting around to booking hotels for Vegas and San Diego in May! I still have yet to book my air for October!

So - Disneyland was sort of crowded since it seems this is the beginning of Spring Break for some folks. My big 5 year old rode Space Mountain for he first time (4x) and Thunder Mountain (2x). It was my 1st time since they rennovated SM last year. It was sort of cool in a funky sort of way.

Other than that - I'm still mildly exhausted from the weekend.

Gotta travel tomorrow til friday....

TTFN! :thumbsup2

OK Awoltoday, you've stumped me. I have no idea. I'd love to know the answer though. :teeth:

O.K. I'll check out the Raddison thank you everyone. AWOL thanks for the shuutle watch. That would be scary without present knowledge!

Crash, when are you going to Vegas? My brother is getting married at the MGM on May 16th. I still haven't booked my flights for this trip or for the cruise. I am waiting for Jet Blue to post the air travel schedule for October. I've never been to Vegas, I'm still debating this trip. We don't understand why he's getting married so far away from everyone. HE'S NEVER been to Vegas. Little brothers, do they ever make sense to their big sisters :confused3 ?

:thumbsup2

We were going to go for a couple of days somewhere in the 15th-18th. Not precisely sure yet... still trying to look at the whole month to make everything fit in.

As for WHY your little brother wants to get married in Vegas... well it's the marrying capital of the USA ... no? Well, it sure seems too be. Lots of partying types of venues and easy marriage licenses. Or so the stereo-typed rumor goes. Otherwise, I tend to agree with you on that consideration for WHY get married in Vegas.

We have some business interests in Vegas though so we have to firm up the schedule before we book the trip. But it is sort of channeling towards a day or two in between the 15th-18th.

Good Morning!

Another great day in Tampa! Too bad my spring break is FLYING by at lightning speed!

No gym today, but Kel has to go back for a throat culture today, and make sure she is finally done with her strep throat. But..that's not till 3:15.

So, here I sit. XLT is sleeping ('cause he got up and had to go out on work related business at 3:40 this morning.) That means no cleaning (darn) ;) .

Guess I'll sit here and DIS. :thumbsup2

The Bonus question was: Friends in [LOW] places - Garth Brooks.

Although it was probably recorded in 1989, it wasn't released until the summer of 1990 ("No Fences" album was released fall 90). The song was also on Mark Chestnutt's album "Too cold at home" that was also released in 1990.

Well, with all this talk of where to stay the night before, I had to go book our rooms, too. We're bucking the trend and not staying at the Radisson, I'd heard too many things about it showing its age, so we thought we'd try something different. So we'll be staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott at Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral. So we'll give it a go!

OH, and before I forget, Kristin, please add the following folks to the roster for the trip: my SIL Nancy, BIL Douglas and their DD16 Susie. We bought the trip for them and will tell them this summer about it. It will be such a fun surprise to share with them!! They will arrive the same time as us.

Thanks!!!
