You may have mentioned your daughter going as Elle before, but I can't recall. I bet she will look adorable. Is she wearing the pink suit? Is your pug going as Bruiser?

You're welcome for the soup recipe. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It's on my list of things to make this week also. I've got a busy week, though. Getting ready for our party Sat night. Started decorating the house last night. I already had my fall stuff up, but now I'm adding Halloween decorations. I must admit it's looking great. I tend to go a little overboard, but that's what's fun for me! The kids have Halloween parties at school on Friday, and my son is participating in the "pumkin run" (basically just a one mile race) Friday morning. And I'm signed up to bring sandwiches for Kylie's class. I'm so glad our beggar's night isn't until Monday!
Speaking of Star Wars....I must admit, I didn't give a hoot about episodes 1-3 when they first announced they were coming out (some 6-7 years ago). But my dh and ds (he was like 4 at the time) got so excited about it, and "educated" me on the story line in the process. We watched episodes 4-6 together, prior to episode 1's release, and I did end up enjoying it. By the time Episodes 2 & 3 came out, I was (nearly) as excited as they were. The third one was my favorite also. We own all but episode 3, and I'm sure that will join our collection asap. The same exact thing happened with the Harry Potter movies. Dh has read all of them, ds read some, and they are both HUGE fans. Me again....didn't give a hoot, but they sucked me in, and mow I love them too! It surprised me, because I'm generally a chick flick (like Legally Blonde.....don't laugh, I love those movies) or, I like action/suspense movies (I also loved American Treasure and Saharra).
One more comment about Star Wars.....I think this is so funny. A mother from school, who has 3 boys--all Star Wars fanatics, in fact she and her husband are also--told me her entire family is going to dress up as Star Wars characters for Halloween. Well, she has a fabulous sense of humor, so to put a "spin" on her costume, she is going as "Queen Mommy-dala" She'll of course look like a version of "Queen Amidala" but she's going to add an apron, maybe some rollers in her huge hair! LOVE IT!
Princess Olivia said:buckifan- that's pretty funny about the apron. Very clever. Olivia has a "Pumpkin Trot" Thursday. They run 3/4 a mile. Interesting that you guys do that too. I wonder if it's a national thing for fitness? It sounds like you go all out for Halloween, that's fun. have a great party! Did I tell you Olivia is going to be Elle from Legally Blond this year? Too cute!
Kristin- Totaly agree with the Terri Hatcher statement. I just said the same thing last night. I think Eva looked really skinny too. I'm 5'7" and am a size 0/2 and I don't look nearly as thin as they do. As far as Gray's Anatomy I do think he is going to end up with Meredith. They will toy with he and his wife's relationship but will ultimately do what the fans really want and we want to see him and Meredith. How hot did he get?! Remember Can't Buy me Love? I love that movie!

Jen,Princess Olivia said:Lilly couldn't behave well enough to go out for Halloween. She has no fear of streets or cars and doesn't get the impending danger. When we first got her, Olivia was in first grade waiting for the bus and said she just saw a dog that looked just like Lilly running down our street (main road, very busy) chasing the SCHOOL BUS!! Lilly got out the back door and WAS chasing that huge bus down the street. I came flying out of the house like a nut screaming for that crazy dog. Luckily, a woman stopped her car and Lilly jumped up into her seat. Needless to say we need to watch her very carefully.ug:
Yes, Olivia has the full pink suit with the pill hat and pearls and a stuffed Bruiser she got when the 2nd movie came out. Olivia is a curly brunette (Craig has dark hair, Cameron DS7 and I have blond hair) so she is wearing a long blond wig. She looks so funny! I'm bummed you can't use that recipe. I know what you mean about the allergies. This is a perfect mix for the kids at school but they can't have peanuts any where near some classrooms. I just don't remember anyone ever having these allergies when I was in school.
Hi,buckifan said:Kritter,
Isn't it funny how you can create a mental image of someone without meeting them? I totally pictured you as a "shorter", petite, blonde. I was surprised when you said you're 5'11". I'm only 5'2 1/2"....and that 1/2" is critical! I guess it was wishful thinking on my part.....misery loves company right? I've always wished I could be at least 5'5", but I doubt that'll happen at this point in life. I think I'm done growing (vertically, anyway!).
I'm gonna search the web now for a recipe for slime.....I saw it yesterday, and bought all of the ingredients today. It calls for Borax, glue, water, and food coloring (green). We are going to play "pass the slime" at the party Sat. It's played just like "hot potato", but with slime. I think the kids will LOVE that. We are also playing Halloween Bingo, and "escape the web". The web game is my own creation. All of the kids join hands in a circle (standing). I spray-painted a hula hoop black, and attached web all over it. The object is to get thru the web without letting go of your neighbor's hands and pass it on to the next person. I'll have music playing, and whoever is in the web when music stops is eliminated (just like hot potato, also). Should be fun.
Princess Olivia said:buckifan- you are very clever. I am so bad at children's parties. I always had the kids somewhere where there were lots of things to do already planned out. I wish I was more creative. I make things elaborate by going to the ends of the earth to get the best cake ( my favorite thing...I drive 50 mins to a bakery for thier cakes) and the best catering but put it all together myself and I would fail miserably. Slime is a great idea! I know that my kids would love it. They LOVED making Flubber on the cruise.
Kristin- there is no way she is 110 lbs. I am 5'7" and 108lbs(going up because it's fall and all I do is bake yummy snacks!) and I swear I am not emaciated like her. The camera does add 10 lbs. I would hate to see her in person...scary! How's this weather? It is so bad here. There are power outages everywhere. Streets are flooded. I had to sub for first grade (today is a 1/2 day) the kids freaked when the power went out. I'm glad to be home again I have a sore throat. Do you read the main DCL page? So many interesting topics, it's fun to look at. 3 more days and we'll be exacly one year out from the day we sail
!!

... we're back from Boston. Landed this morning - then stopped for an Indian Buffett on the way home.... yum. Except, they applied our 2 for one lunch buffett coupon on the childs' portion - instead of an adult like last time. We didn't feel much like making an issue of it since we ate so much (I almost could have used the stroller for MYSELF to make it back to the car).
Oh well... I skimmed the past few postings and it seems we're chatting about Holloween parties an heights and sizes. Well...
... we're hosting a holloween dinner party this saturday at our community club house. We have DVD + projector shooting a movie to semi-occupy the kids while we serve prime rib and dungeness crab as the main entree. Oh, it's a costume party for the kids (of course) and a costume optional thing for the adults. I'm going as Jafar... I got a costume from Disney on Ebay. I still need to fabricate a jafar staff. I was going to put a can of silly string atop a staff - and rig a wire to triger it from a position a foot below the top - and on top I was going to make a cobra head out of masking tape and then spray paint the shibang gold. Then glue on plastic half rubies for eyes. It would "spit" sily string at the pull of my trigger wire fro the mouth if I do it right.
Aside from that - my spouse was going to be a pirate matching our daughter. Ok... gotta run... I'll chat more later.![]()
