Hi Everyone,
Rick and I had a FABULOUS time at Disney World. I picked him up at work Friday at 3:00 and we pulled into Downtown Disney at 9:30. 6 1/2 hours was good timing, traffic was great. We loved Port Orlean's French Quarter!!! We have stayed at River side (formerly Dixie Landings several times) in the mansions and bayou's, but this was the first time at P.O. We went to Downtown Disney and shopped. We ate at the Rainforest. (Rick's favorite restaurant) we rented a boat and cruised around for an hour in the lake at Downtown Disney. Sunday we went to Typhoon Lagoon and got in an hour earlier than the public since we were Disney guest. We practically had the place to ourselves the first hour.We left Monday and made it home in 6 1/2 hours as traffic was very good. We took lots of picture's and I will post a link to them soon!!

Rick and I plan on dressing up for Halloween and Pirate night!!!

Capt. Crash- Loved your picture's!!

Heather- I will be sending you my check and order form today.

Princess Olivia- I too was very sad to hear of Steve Irwins death. He was such a neat guy. I am very sorry for his wife and kids. Rick and I swam with the stingray's last year at Stingray City in Grand Cayman. It is so crowded it is amazing no one gets hurt. The news said it was a freak accident.

Teri-
So glad you had a nice time at Disney. I was actually thinking of you guys this weekend. The travel channel had a special on top rated amusement and water parks, and they mentioned Typhoon Lagoon.

We love The Rainforest Cafe also!! And the kids get such a kick out of the atmosphere. We've been to the one in Chicago as well. Wish we'd get one here.

Speaking of which.....we are getting a Costco nearby. It'll be the first one in the whole central Ohio area. I've never been to one. What makes it so great?

Hey everyone, Just wanted to mention that there are now Halloween gift baskets listed on the DCL website. They are listed under the My Cruise gifts and amentities. They looked pretty cute.

Terri- sounds like a great time. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Heather- the gift baskets are pretty cute. I like the last one because it has 2 of everything. I called Shirley last week. Her Halloween stuff doesn't come in until later this month. She's going to put something together and call me back. I don't want to go crazy. Our Halloween candy sits in a bowl until I throw it out at Christmas! The kids might eat a few things from it and then forget it's there. I have always had candy dishes in my house. Even when they were toddlers. I think because the candy is always there they don't feel the need to eat it. I keep both regular and peanut M&M's out all year and holiday time I have lots of things out. I forget it's there until one of the kids friends come over and can't believe there is candy free for the taking and grab handfuls! :Pinkbounc

Teri - Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a good trip! :thumbsup2

Hmmm... Costco! Great deals on way too many of something you probably don't need! :rotfl2: Seriously, the do get some good deals there. Some of the food and other items come in VERY large quantities, though. We may end up transferring our "Alaska" cruise to costco travel to get the perks from them.

Gift baskets: We, along with pretty much everybody else on the Disboards, HIGHLY recommend Shirley at The Perfect Gift. If you don't see exactly what you want, she'll work with you finding the perfect assortment. And she's just an amazing person anyway. So, steal any ideas you can from DCL, add your own, and send Shirley the business! You won't be disappointed! She did a great job for us last year! :woohoo:

YES!!! She was so great! We were celebrating my parents 40th anniversary. They are reality TV fans & I was able to snag some Survivor stuff that had a personalized/autographed message from Jeff that I wanted in their basket. Shirley just had me ship it to her & she made sure the buff & hat were in their baskets. They were very surprised and thrilled at the personalized touch. Shirley was fabulous!!

So, is it anything like Sam's Club?

Of course not! Everyone tore into them so fast that we didn't get the camera out in time! UGH! I did a big sand bucket one for the kids. It had sand toys & some snacks/drinks, tattoos, etc. in it. I had given Shirley a list of everyone's fav drings/snacks/candy. They were all included!

Thanks for posting your pics Heather!

Heather - I have a T-shirt question for you! Does JuliaandNicksMom actually print the images onto a shirt or is she using home iron ons? If she's using an iron on, I wouldn't mind doing our own shirts here. You could send me the image & I can print & iron myslef. That would take a little of the hassle away from you.

Thanks for handling all this!!

Teena

Heather the baskets look fantastic!

I'm going to ask her to keep it all Halloween themed. I do need a sand pail. On CC last year they really wished they had one. In fact I ended up buying them sand toys on the island. Did I mention I am a total SUCKER in the stores? She Sell Sea Shells is my favorite. I have towels and cups, T-shirts/shorts and the drink in a coconut cups (green). I LOVE the towels. However, I didn't NEED any of it. Wreckless spending is my biggest hazard when it comes to Disney. It's as though I'll NEVER see this stuff again (not true) so I better buy EVERYTHING right now!! So please, when you see me in the stores in a haze of Disney shopping frenziness, remind me to keep it in check!

Shool bus is here. Got Homework? :p ............

HI All,

I see that you are talking about sand pails and baskets from Shirley...
Heather and I wanted to let everyone know that anyone whose child is participating in trick and treating will receive a personalized shovel and pail... This is will serve as two purposes 1. to hold their trick and treat candy. 2. to play with at CC or the other islands.. Please do not tell the kids we want this to be a surprise for them.....We wanted to let you know this so you do not worry about a shovel and pail......

So remember to sign up for trick and treating by Sept 15th..........

Kristin
