Halloween Cruise 2004 Trip Report
Part 5: Day 5, Wednesday, November 3
Heres the cast: theres me DM Shirley (58), DD Debbie (30), DSIL Paul (39), DGS Hunter (6), DD Beth (36) and DSIL Daryl (30). We were booked in SPH 5520 and inside cabin 5513 which was just down the hall. Me, Debbie, Paul and Hunter were in 5520 and my other daughter Beth and husband Daryl were in 5513.
Early wake-up call today at 6:00 because we were in St. Thomas and had to go through immigration bright and early. I setup a Mickey Mouse wake-up call his cheeriness helps to lesson the pain of getting up so early while on vacation. We had to go to the Walt Disney Theater which was on the deck below us. The line was long but moved quickly for us to take seats in the theater. We sat and watched daughter and son-in-law (who had left his birth certificate in the hotel) go up to the immigration officer. I was holding my breath but they werent delayed and proceeded to get their hand stamped and went on out the theaters side door. Our row was called soon after to be processed by a second immigration officer who arrived and then we were on our way to breakfast. We met our other family members in Parrot Cay and had a nice breakfast before we were to meet in Studio Sea (Deck 4) around 8:00 for our Coral World and Island Tour excursion.
This time we had a neat open-air bus driven by the White Knight. I think he knew everyone on the island always beeping his horn and waving. We went up steep, twisting roads to the top of the island. Someones little girl got carsick but fortunately she was sitting at the end of a row so it didnt get too messy if you get my drift. Such pretty views we could see the Magic in the harbor and it was docked between two bigger cruise ships, the Princess Star and the Mariner of the Seas. At the top of the mountain we visited a shop that sold local rum among other things and could look at Megans Beach. Just gorgeous!
Then we drove to Coral World and enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful fish. There were two big pools, some buildings with fish tanks as well as an undersea viewing area. We were able to take some great pictures and my grandson got to feed lettuce to some iguanas and touch a starfish. I picked up some nice souvenirs at their gift shop and then back to the ship we went. Beth and Daryl wanted to check out the shops and we went on board for lunch.
We ate lunch at Lumieres and I do remember the navy bean soup it was pureed rather than having whole beans. Still tasted good but the different texture just surprised me. The bread pudding for dessert was scrumptious! After lunch, I dont remember doing anything in particular just went up to deck 9 and relaxed on a lounge in the adult pool area. What a life!
Dinner that night was at Animators Palate which we enjoyed finally got Daryl back since he was now out of quarantine. I stayed in the cabin afterwards with Hunter so that the others could go see King Arthur which was fine by me. Tomorrow is another day at sea which I find relaxing except for THE bingo game stay turned for this story. Can you say G51?
