Hi
I am looking for some halloween crafts I can do with my 2.5 year old as well as some halloween traditions to start with her. October is just around the corner!
Thanks!

As autumn approaches we make fallen leaf collages from waxed paper and broken crayons- ironing them together to melt them. They look so festive in the windows.
We also go apple picking and make apple "star" paintings. We cut the apples in half to see the star shape in the middle- then use them as stamps to make paper placemats or wrapping paper. My DDs love that.
We also use the apples for pies, applesauce and cake.
Halloween is a big deal in our house. We actually celebrate it in older ways- by honoring spirits and getting into the magic of the holiday. We have a bonfire and eat spirit cakes that we make together.
We of course do the pumpkin carving- with Disney stencils!!
Pumpkin painting is always fun too.
I know craft stores or even Walmart- carry craft kids with those foam sheets. My DDs always like to make holiday door hangers, ornaments or frames. Those are usually pretty cheap too.
Have a fun holiday!

My mom used to make "ghosties" with us when we were little kids and I still do now that I'm an adult (no kids yet).

Use a tissue to cover a cotton ball (or tootsie pop) and tie it closed with a long string or thread. Make a face with a black marker.

We would use the long end of the string to tie the Ghosties from the light over our kitchen table. They fly over every meal and if you use the tootsie pops you can give them to friends.

Also, never underestimate the fun of scooping out a pumpkin. Gooey is great!

We love to make little spiders with black construction paper by tracing the kids' hands. Trace their hands with a white crayon on black paper and cut or have the kids cut. Cut off the thumbs and tape or glue together at the bottoms of the palms to create the spider's body and legs. Color eyes with the white crayon and hang on an orange ribbon. They are cute and we save one each year to see how much bigger their spiders get as their hands grow.

Can you explain the leaf collages more? That sounds really cool!

You find pretty fallen leaves out in your yard- or buy some if you don't have them where you live. Then you arrange them on waxed paper cut into pretty shapes. Sprinkle some grated crayon pieces on top in different colors. Then place another wax paper piece on top. Lay the whole thing between two dish towels and iron it on a low-medium setting. The crayon melts into pretty patterns and the waxed paper holds it all together. The look so pretty hanging in the window. My DDs always love seeing how the melted crayon looks.
