My daughter's birthday is Oct 31, and we just booked a WDW trip for this year to celebrate. I'm sure the magic kingdom will be busy on Halloween night, so I'm looking for other great options for a dinner. I would love to book a special birthday dinner for her! It will be the husband, daughter, son (2 years old) and myself. We will be staying at the wilderness lodge. Any suggestions?

Hoop Dee Doo Revue dinner show at Fort Wilderness. You'll take a boat from Wilderness Lodge or MK to get there. It's a fun show & good food, & if you schedule a carriage ride before or after dinner, you'll get to see some of the homemade Halloween decorations at the Fort.

This is a great idea! We love HDDR. It is a perfect place to celebrate a birthday.

While it does sell out and can be crowded, why not get tickets for MNSSHP? It's a great time with a lot of characters (some dressed in costumes), trick or treating, THE best parade WDW has to offer, HalloWishes and just a great, fun atmosphere for all. Some people like to spend the day at another park or at the resort resting. We like to spend the day at MK and take advantage of the smaller crowds. A late lunch or early dinner at The Plaza, CRT, CP or BOG works nicely before checking in for the party at about 4.

HDDR sounds like a great idea!

I am planning on getting tickets to MNSSHP for us. Originally I was against getting them for the actual birthday (halloween) because of crowds. But after reading other posts, it seems all the dates during our stay may be just as busy (10.26 - 11.1).

I know the kids would love the parade especially. I am just TERRIBLE at being pushy in crowds, so I'm attempting to plan strategically so the kids can have a great time and I'm not frazzled. Ha! I have big dreams :rotfl2:

Minnie's Seasonal Dine at Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios will be hosting a special Halloween themed dinner with Minnie and friends at that time.

The party will sell out the whole week leading up to Halloween. Don't let that scare you too much (pun intended). The crowd won't be anything like it is the busy times of the year.

The reason we like to spend the whole day at MK on nights we do MNSSHP, is so by the time the party comes around, we've already gone through the park. This gives us time to have a sit down mean (we did BOG lunch once and The Plaza the other time), check in for the party and make our way to whatever the big line must do for the party is (once we got on line for the 7D at about 5 and were 8th on line, the other time we got on line for Jack and Sally at about 4:15 and were first on line). By the time we got on these lines we were ready to rest a little so didn't mind the downtime. Since we were pretty much not doing rides because we had spent the day there (although we still did BTMRR, AO and HM of course both times) and were already finished with our main goal for the night, we were able to just slow down, enjoy walking around the park, seeing the other characters we wanted, trick or treated, watch both parades, HalloWishes, had some snacks, went through the merch, etc. without the crowd really getting to us.

If you decide to go this route, or whichever night you choose, if you decide you want to take a mid-day break to rest for the party, I would make it a point to still get back to MK by 4PM. Perhaps do a special breakfast at CRT, if your DD enjoys princesses, this way you can head back to your resort to rest and get ready for the party and do a CS dinner when you return, this way you won't be as frazzled. If you spent the morning at MK or have hoppers, don't get on the party check-in line outside the park. There are places to check-in for the party inside the park and they are not nearly as crowded.
