Last year we went to MNSSH early in October, but this year we will get to Disney on Halloween. My daughter is 3 and well its a favorite of course. Do the resorts do anything fun for Halloween? Is MNSSH packed on the 31st, would you bother to go then? We loved it last year i 'm just not sure what to do..

We were at the MNSSHP on Halloween in 04 and thought it was awesome. We walked on to every ride. We also went in Sept of last year, and it seemed way more crowded early on than when we were at the "sold-out" party in 04. It was still a lot of fun though.

Ava's Mommy,
MNSSHP is a special event and only a certain amount of tickets are sold. It will be a nice crowd with little or no wait times for rides. Face painting will be a little longer. I did not notice anything too special at the Poly other than the normal carved pumpkin kinda thing on the check-in counter.

The only time we were ever in WDW during halloween was back in 2000. Each of the stores in the GF and the BW area had candy out for the kids to do some trick or treating.

We were in WDW for Halloween in '05 and '06. It was wonderful. We went to MNSSHP on Halloween and the park is crowded, but there is nothing like being there for the parade and fireworks on Halloween!
I remember the Boardwalk had activities and trick-or-treating for kids as well as Downtown Disney, but not sure about this year!

*PS: I'm going to be an AVA's Mommy this August! GREAT NAME!!

Just wanted to say hello:)
I am an "Ava's Mommy too!

Make that 3 of us!!!!:goodvibes oops, just saw Rennee's post. FOUR of us!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Ok, to the OP Ava's Mommy...I am going to tell you that I have been to 3 MNSSHPs and the last one we attended was an Oct 31st party and DH and I agreed we will not attend that date again. It was more crowded than the other times we went. It was sold out. Even though they only sell a certain number of tickets, it was a LOT of people trying to maneuver thru the park. I regret not going to the one the night before, because we were staying at the BWV and the BW area has a GREAT halloween party. I wish we would have done MNSSHP on a different night, then enjoyed the BW party on the actual night of Halloween. I know DTD also has trick or treating or some sort of Halloween festivities. I would bet that most resorts do something,.

From your last post, though, it seems you will not be at WDW before Oct 31. If you must go on that night, I am not saying it is awful, just something we would avoid if possible. Your flight arrives at 3pm? That does seem like an awfully long day for a 3 year old. I am afraid she would be too tired to get all the enjoyment out of it. Do you go to WDW regularly? If so, maybe you should wait until next year. I don't mean to be a downer, but I do love MNSSHP and want to see a fellow "Ava's Mommy" and her little Ava enjoy it as much as possible!

We were at WDW for Halloween two years ago staying at BWV. The Boardwalk had a wonderful celebration for Halloween night. We were amazed at how much they go out for this particular holiday. Down Town Disney Marketplace had huge festivities as well although they were really crowded. We could hardly walk there were so many people. It was nice to see all of the great costumes though. We're going again this year.

I have been a lurker for sometime now and ready to starting posting. My family dh, myself, dd (9 almost 10) dd (6 1/2) (ages at the time we will be going to Disney) and my parents are planning on going the end of October or earl November next year. I am wondering if Disney will be really crowded the last week of October with the MMNSSH. Is the MMNSSH in just a certain area of the MK? Will the MK be crowded during the day also? I am wondering if it will be better to go the first week of November? This will be the first Disney trip for my kids and want them to have a great experience. I think the weather will be comfortable and still great for enjoying the resort pools and less crowds. Also, the magic of the Disney princesses will be disappearing soon for my oldest daughter. We plan on staying at either POFQ or Riverside resort. Also, my kids are currently picky eaters hotdogs, burgers, chicken nuggest type food. We are also deciding on the DDP. I think even though they are picky eaters it looks like we can still get a good deal with the plan. I would like to have some sit down dinners especially after all those quick meals and food court meals. Plus, I think it will help you figure out your cost ahead of time for your trip. I would love any feedback!

thanks for the honest advice! i think we are going to opt not to go this year, but i think the Boardwalk or downtown is a plan! I don't want this to be a stressful trip and starting right off with flying into orlando with a big baby and a little princess is enough for anyone! Its like a ride itself. So i think i will still bring Ava an outfit to dress up in and head to dinner at one of the places around the boardwalk or dtd. then make it an early night so our morning can be stressfree. But i know its early, she already has her heart set on being Mulan, have you seen anything for this princess, she was Cinderella last year.:hippie:

When we were there during that time two years ago we did not find it extremely crowded. The Halloween party itself was a bit full but nothing extreme. It pretty much covers the entire MK with the exception of a few attractions and restaurants being closed. (not many though) We went to MNSSHP on the 30th that year. I have heard that the 31st can be pretty darn crowded. The weather is quite lovely at that time of year. Although be sure to pack a jacket and some long pants because the evenings can sometimes be cool especially if it rains.

Have you thought about going on Nov 2nd? That is the last day of the party.

We are thinking of the first of November as well as the last week of October. Just wondering which is better. I was wondering how crazy that Halloween week was. I want it to be fun for my kids seeing this is their first trip. We figured either week the kids could still swim in the resort pools weather wise.
