Hi all. So I just found out there will be some Halloween activities during my cruise in October. One of them is a costume contest for adults. My question for anyone who has attended before is does everyone wear Disney related costumes? Would I feel silly and out of place in a non-Disney costume? Thanks.

No, whatever costumes you want are fine.

There are several categories in the contest such as funniest, most original, scariest, etc. A lot of people take this seriously and create some very impressive costumes. Some were quite simple but imaginative. The main thing is to do something you'll enjoy and have fun with the other people. There were some Disney themed costumes, but most were from other venues. We were on a Halloween cruise in '14 and had a blast that night. It was a very entertaining evening. Be sure to wear your costume to dinner that night.

A lot of people had on Disney related costumes when we went in October in the Magic. We did not. Our family dressed as characters from the Legend of Zelda videogame series. We were finalists in the Most Original category. We didn't win but we received a lot of compliments and one crew member in particular (one of the dancers) was so thrilled and went on and on about the costumes. He made my night. :) I have no regrets.

I've done a few Halloween cruises and have seen many "non Disney costumes" some people go all out and look amazing!
I've never dressed up, but my kids have always dressed "non Disney"
One cruise my sons dressed the same and went like this...
I thought it might be a bit scarey, but they were loved cause both my boys dressed the same. They got a ton of attention image.jpeg

On our last cruise in 2014, my wife and I, wife's mother and a friend of hers dressed as Hugh Hefner and three Playboy Bunnies. A perfect costume for our group don't you think? o_O We had a very fun night. The best part is that the costume was easy to pack and comfortable to wear for many hours.

I love the play boy bunny picture. Thats great. I did not realize there was a contest. We sail in september. Seems like I need to look into these extra events.
