We also made some decisions on what to do in ports after some emailing back and forth with tour operators:

Which company did you go with? I am now thinking of getting a four-seater instead of going on the trolley.

This is the response we recieved from them. They were very helpful and responded to my emails quickly.

The rate for a 4 seat car for 4 hours is $99.00 or $129.00 for the day. We also offer free customer pick up at the port, and when your done we can get you a ride back! If you have any further questions or would like to reserve, just contact us at 305-896-1921 and we will be happy to help you!

1)The cars are open air with a roof, but no doors or enclosures.
2) If you reserve, and the ship can not dock, we do not charge you for the rental!
3) You pay for the car when you arrive at our shop!

We take a credit card to hold the reservation, and if any changes just ask that you contact us so we do not hold the car and turn away a rental!

so this week I will be seldom on this thread..I have a lot going on!! imagine that!


My plan is to go Wednesday to Legoland, thursday to MNSSHP, and Friday to Seaworld..thats the plan so far...we shalll see.

One more working Monday before we head out. I had a productive weekend and things are looking good. I do think that I will start packing later this week so I am not all in a rush next Monday. I have a good list and need to move some items off the bed to be packed - no since in taking anything extra that isn't needed or won't be worn.

Had an eye appointment at lunch today - they dialated my eyes and I am going to loose my mind - still can't see exactly right.

I always swear I am not going to "overpack" and then I end up overpacking Oh well!!

I had the eye doctor a couple of weeks ago, and got my eyes dialated, then I had to drive home with out my contacts in, luckly I only live a few blocks of the doc's office.....

I am starting my "house cleaning" tonite....since my son will be staying with my dog....so I am doing a room a night.....!!

Can not believe we are down to just 4 days before we leave for our first visit to WDW for a week then on to the cruise.

It is going to be so amazing. I am, however, a little concerned about how much rain they are continuing to get in Florida, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bahamas. I really hope it settles down before we leave. It will be a real let down if we have to skip some ports or miss out on the excursions we have scheduled.

Finally finished wrapping up the FE's. I am advising everyone in advance that this was my first attempt at be crafty so it is not up to the same scale as a lot of the ones I've seen on the FE gift threads but I will say I worked long and hard and drove my husband absolutely crazy (of course that was a perk for me ). I can finally say that my husband is on the vacation train now and is actually getting into the spirit of the trip. He even agreed to dress up for Pirate night! I'm totally shocked. He did however not agree to Halloween dress up but I'll win that battle next time.

Went out today and finally picked up our WDW tickets from the Travel and Leisure office at Fort Bragg. Still can't believe how great of a deal we get. Of course I do believe we deserve it since this is our first vacation after 3 very long deployments. I also scheduled our trip to Sea World.

We are going to be so busy this week getting everything ready. Luckily I am OCD and have lists for my lists. I am though realistic and know that I will inadvertently forget something so I do not have unreasonable expectations for everything being perfect.

Well, I need to run. Have to print out my return address labels and labels for the postcard exchange.

Moning all:

Well some of you guys are getting ready to leave, I still have "counting today"
8 more working days......but we are down to 11 days till we cruise......
My spare room is such a mess right now....between the bed being full of clothes and the floors with suitcases...you can barely walk in there, then when I remember something I go and thow it in there....what a mess but that is what I will be working on this weekend. I most likely will move everything down into the family room and then I can organize much better

I will sign ours so people know who they are from. I have kept mine from other trips - they are fun to look at even after the trip is long over.

I asked him about going back to work after vacation and he said it would depend on my next check up but should be ok. I still have the same restrictions as before but he seemed impressed with my progress. I still have to wear the ugly and uncomfortable leg brace at least until I can walk without "high stepping" like a pony. Haha. Today I realized that I can walk without my walker but I'm still a little unsteady. And that is today's medical report...

Now for the good stuff:
We have our electric car from the time the ship docks until all aboard. So from noon to seven, I think. It's great that they pick up at the port.

Early this morning I couldn't sleep so I started mentally packing. I guess I should start actually packing.

We label our postcards also. That is how we ended up with facebook friends from around the world.

We leave in 9 days! Yippee!!

Just take it easy and don't overdo anything - and use your walker because you do not want/need to fall. And, having 'been there, done that' for not only myself but DH had a spinal fusion a few years back, it is easy to start feeling better and push too hard. That is a fine line.

A week from now we will be about to circle MCO for a landing. I have been watching the weather and yesterday, it looked good, today I think I need find a rain poncho. But I guess a rainy October day in the parks is better than a rainy chilly day in MI anytime!

Annette don't over do!! Glad the surgeon said you were doing well! You should be able to relax at sea just take it easy at the parks.

I got my phone calls made. The hotel guy was like the ships don't leave until after 3--why do you want to go to the terminal so early. I told him that I had a check in time of 11 to 11:30 and he said that doesn't matter. With persistence I got a 10Am shuttle which should get us there in plenty of time. We park the car at the hotel as part of the hotel deal which saves a lot on the terminal parking fee.

It is so cool that some of you are making your fe's. Ilove home made crafty stuff ! Mostly, cause I have no ability in this area so ours is all store bought stuff.

Is everyone leaving soon? We don't leave until the night before. We are driving to Port Canaveral and staying over there the night before. We leave here just after the kids get out of school on Friday. Will anyone else be on here until the last minute or will I be talking to my self

I'll still be on here. We fly out to Miami the night before to meet up with my parents then we will drive to the port the next morning. I will probably check in here even the day of.

Kathie- don't worry, we don't leave till that morning! LOL! We are less than 90min from port, so we will get up and get on the road on Saturday morning. So the countdown for us is longer...oh well.

I am home sick today and trying to mentally wrap my head around my FE stuff that is not started. I will get it done. I have so many things to do around here in the next two weeks. So I will be busy. My halloween costume came in the mail today and it fits...yay!!! So we are waiting on Liam's costume and then we are all set.

Annette- so glad you are doing better. We are so looking forward to seeing you guys and hope we can spend some time together!
